After having stayed one night by myself at The Yorkshire a few years back in spring, my wife & I booked two nights in the fall of this year while attending minor pro hockey games in town. This B&B is the smallest that we've stayed in, with just two guest bedrooms (one with a full-sized bed & the other with a pair of twins) but plans for a third in the future. We slept in the larger Winchester Room, which also has a love seat for daytime comfort & a Queen Anne-style highboy housing a TV. The medium sized private bathroom is accessed from the private hall that connects the bedroom & the upstairs hallway; it is large enough for two people to move around in, and has a clawfoot tub with shower that requires a short step up & a taller step over to enter (greater skill/balance required to exit). The suite is nicely decorated & well maintained, with plenty of local tourism references in the bedside table to help plan your days in & around town.||||Our breakfasts were simple but delicious, prepared by proprietor/husband/house chef Bryan. Day #1 we had huge veggie omelets with a side of bacon; Day #2 we were treated to a special crème brulee French toast with bacon. The second morning we were joined at breakfast by Bryan & his wife Jessica, and one of their sons. Jessica is energetic & chatty, with lots of stories to tell about their B&B ownership experiences plus local news & tourism/shopping tips around town. Bryan's quiet & reserved personality (appropriate for his role as a pastor of a local church) strikes a good balance for this hospitable couple.||||The price & comfort & convenience make The Yorkshire B&B a very good alternative to the local hotels around Danville. A straight drive south on North Vermilion Street will get you to a collection of very affordable antique/collectible and furniture shops in the downtown area and the local hockey arena just beyond. The B&B location also offers easy access to a shopping mall to the north & to dining options around town. We will definitely check The Yorkshire for availability the next time we plan to return to Danville.

A long overdue review. Yorkshire B&B is a great little place in the heart of old Danville but shielded from heavy traffic. Great price as well for the comfort and personal touch, both of which beat the remaining hotels by a long shot. Homemade extended breakfast awaited me the next morning after a good rest in the well-equipped Winchester room. As most other accommodations are at the edges of town this is a great alternative.||||Jessica and Bryan are perfect hosts and will make sure that your stay is perfect and memorable.||||Thanks again for a perfect stay.

I was in Danville for one night to attend a minor pro hockey playoff game, and the Yorkshire B&B offered accommodations that were competitive with the local hotels/motels and had easy access to the main core of town. My check-in experience was a bit unusual, with the innkeepers' son meeting me at the house - and fending off the three Yorkie "Mascots" - while his parents were still at work. But I got settled in to my room & enjoyed my overnight stay. I only met Jessica briefly the next morning as she was leaving again for work; but as I was their only guest that day, Bryan joined me at breakfast and we had a nice chat about his work in town & the business of running a B&B. Bryan still had work to do to bring the property up to complete repair, and there were some very cluttered spaces behind simple curtains accessible to guests (e.g., a rear stairwell off the Winchester Suite entry hall & the rear of the closet in the Suite), but the major public spaces and bedrooms were well appointed and kept clean. The entry hall, living room & stairwell to the upstairs bedrooms stayed quite dark during my brief stay, but otherwise the rooms were well lit.

This was a delightful change of pace from my usual hotel travel. I was in the area for a memorial service and needed a place for one night. I found the room with a private bath to be comfortable and quiet and decorated in keeping with the historical period of the house. Don't be fooled with the ongoing work to restore this beauty to it's historical roots. The accommodations are delightful and the innkeepers even more so. Breakfast was fabulous with Bryan's signature orange French toast. It is definitely worth another visit and economically it fits all budgets! Thank you Jessica and Bryan for a delightful visit!

This is one of the older, more beautiful homes on North Vermilion in Danville, and I always admired this property as a little girl growing up in this area. The innkeepers have refurbished most of the interior, but seemed to have captured what this house may have looked like in its heyday. Soaking in the claw-foot tub was the highlight for me! Warm and friendly, Innkeepers Bryan and Jessica fixed us a wonderful breakfast and sat down and had coffee with us. I just wish we would have had more time to spend there and really take in all of the ambiance. When we go back home to visit, we will definitely choose this property over the hotel chains off of I-74. Same price range, but much more ambiance, smells a heck of a lot better than those hotels, and a home-made breakfast is included.

The Yorkshire has warm and comfortable rooms. Ours had a private bath. The decor was carefully selected and fit well with the period of the house. Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, great coffee, and wonderful apple cinnamon pancakes. The innkeepers were delightful.

I recently had a four night stay at the Yorkshire B&B. I had a wonderful time! The owners were so kind and welcoming, particularly Mrs. Sampson, whom I think primarily runs the B&B. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome, and I very much appreciated it. At times I even forgot that I was paying to stay there and was not a visiting relative or friend.
The common areas are quite lovely. If you like Yorkie dogs, you'll probably love the decor in the living room, especially. They have three Yorkies who are the "mascots" of the house. I saw very little of them during my stay, so if you're not a dog person, you'll still probably be fine.
I had the pleasure of staying in both of the rooms, and both are amazing. The beds are so comfy with high quality bedding. Both tubs are quite deep, so they may present some complications for some people There is a fairly decent selection of DVDs for guest use, which came in handy when I had a slight insomnia attack.
Mrs. Sampson is an amazing cook--I wish she served three meals a day instead of just breakfast. They're not fancy breakfasts, but they're definitely delicious and have a homey feel.
The one thing I would mention, because I know it could be off-putting to some people, is that they aren't close-mouthed about their political and religious views. They're not over-the-top loud, nor are they remotely judgemental, but they do have religious artwork all over the house, and you might hear them express an opinion. From experience I know some customers don't want to hear people in hospitality and service industries to allow their opinions to be known, but I certainly don't think it's worthy of a complaint by any means.
Pros: Homey-environment, luxiorious accomodations, great price, delicious food.
Cons: Potentially difficult-to-use facilities
I would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone who likes B&Bs!
