The hideaway was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and to get out of the heat in Phoenix. The weather was great including a rain storm on one of the nights- we sat on the covered deck to enjoy it. The sunrises, sunsets and the night sky were amazing. We hiked in the Chiricahua National Monument, in Cochise Stronghold experienced an incredible thunderstorm echoing throughout the area. We also visited numerous towns in the area historic Pearce ( great Pottery place) Bisbee, Willcox and Amerind in Dragoon . The hideaway room was perfect-with luxurious bedding, toiletries and well stocked for breakfast items. The hideaway had beautiful plants, bushes, sheep and a few friendly cats and dogs. We enjoyed the new murals on the surrounding walls. Patrick was a great host/ helpful with places of interest in the area, helping with our luggage, tour of basket/ lavender studio, and checking in to see if we needed anything.
Definitely a great trip

We really enjoyed our time here. The room is comfortable and so quiet. Outside there are lovely sitting areas. There are several places nearby to grab a great meal as you explore the beautiful SE corner of AZ.

We enjoyed our Yaqui Hideout stay.
The location (between Chiricahua National monument and Cochise Stronghold) offers access to out of the way natural wonders.
Whitewater Wash Nature Preserve, even closer, is a must for viewing migratory flocks of cranes and egrets.
The Yaqui compound offers a comfortable place to be after a day or two of exploration. Simple, healthy breakfast items and coffee are provided, and snacks to go, start your day.
Thankfully, this is not a chi-chi B&B. Instead, the Hideout offers a rustic setting, with a unique history, great night skies, a variety of animals, reasonable rates and art . . . all hosted with intelligence and care.
Recommend it highly.

I stumbled upon Yaqui Hideout while searching online for a place to stay near the Chiricahua National Monument. After reading reviews on Google, I booked. And I'm so glad I did. We stayed only one night, but it was a great experience. And that's the key word: experience. This is not just another room to stay for the night.

We got the full tour from Patrick who greeted us and helped us with our luggage when we arrived. We got to meet the sheep, Roger the Ram, the cats, the dogs, and even the great horned owl who has been nesting in the barn. Patrick showed us the weaving room filled with beautiful baskets Bob makes by hand, as well as the lavender products they make. (Unfortunately the lavender doesn't bloom for a few more months (we were there in March) so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely fragrance beyond the wonderful products they had.)

Being out in the middle of nowhere was wonderful. So peaceful, quiet, and open. The cloudy sky kept us from enjoying the stars but Patrick confirmed it's pretty magnificent under a clear sky. Patrick was able to recommend places for food. Because of location, nothing was super close and there were limited options, so it was very helpful to have Patrick's tips.

Our room was perfect. Had everything we needed, was clean, quiet, comfortable, and we enjoyed the homemade scone and muffin with yogurt and fruit for breakfast. The room was also stocked with snacks, sodas, waters, and coffee.

We would absolutely recommend this place, especially for those enjoying Chiricahua National Monument. It is an experience you won't regret.

We loved staying at the Yaqui Hideout! Bob is such a great host - he welcomed us when we arrived, told us to call/text him if we needed anything and gave us some great recommendations for the area. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We loved the homemade baked goods in the morning. Don't forget to check out the studio - I found a basket and lavender products that I just had to have. Short drive to Chiricahua NM, restaurants and wineries. If we travel in this area of Arizona again, we will definitely stay here again 🙂

I took my two daughters (10 & 12) here for one night for a little adventure. It looked like a great place online, but the reality exceeded expectations. The property is beautiful (even more so, I am sure, when the lavender is in bloom), the rooms are great, everything you need and then some. Patrick was a wonderful host, very accommodating and willing to walk the property with you, call the sheep over with extra food for the kids, and gave great recommendations for restaurants and other activities nearby. I highly recommend giving this place shot, whether it is with kids or just an adult get away, this property is worth visiting. We definitely plan to go back!

We had a wonderful time during our 3-day, 2-night stay at the Yaqui Hideout! We couldn't have had more gracious hosts! Patrick was amazing with our two grandkids - letting them help with the sheep and chickens, and introducing them to the dogs and barn owls. He gave them an experience I know they will never forget! The adults had a great time, too, making dinners on the new grill, enjoying a basket-weaving class with the amazingly talented Bob, and looking up at the incredible night skies.

There is also much to do and see in the local area, in Willcox, and in the nearby Chiricahua Mountains - and this is a great starting point for every adventure.

The rooms are spacious, quiet, and clean, and the beds very comfortable. The refrigerators and coffee baskets were stocked with goodies, including special treats for the kids.

You simply couldn't ask for nicer hosts, more comfortable rooms, or a better experience! We HIGHLY recommend the Yaqui Hideout to anyone visiting this area - you will love it!

Yaqui hideout is truly a secluded hideout in a lovely setting. Patrick is the perfect host for this unusual "on the farm" experience. The rooms are in a private section of the compound. Sheep, horses, dogs and chickens roam the other areas. There are families of owls in the barn. (3 kitties will follow you around if you would like to explore.) The lavender fields were just being planted outside the compound.
Our room was well appointed and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. We had fruit, yogurt, fresh baked muffins and snacks to choose from for breakfast. We're so glad to have stayed here and really enjoyed our conversations with Patrick.
