A friend and I stayed here overnight and Jim is an amazing host. He gave us a full tour, told us the history behind the home, and made sure we felt comfortable. He baked cookies for all the guests that night, and made a DELICIOUS breakfast the next morning. Seriously, the best breakfast I’ve had from a hotel. The wifi can go in and out at certain times, but this place is rural, so that is to be expected. Just come prepared and know that this is the perfect place to unplug and unwind. I would stay here again!

From the "Welcome" to the "Goodbye" you will love this place! The history inside the walls of this beautiful home, is so previously preserved and shared by Mr Jim. The rooms are beautiful, the balcony is amazing, but the hospitality is what makes it a must for your destination.
Mr Jim's chocolate chip cookies are delicious! And Mrs Faye's breakfast is a mother's good morning hug. ❤️

What a great bed and breakfast owned/run by wonderful people! We stayed here dropping our son off at camp nearby, and it was the perfect spot for a quick trip. We learned Winston Place has tremendous history with ties to Patrick Henry as Jim (owner/operator) toured me around the property. The breakfast was outstanding (especially the cheese grits and French toast). Beyond the beautiful home and great food, Jim truly exemplified southern hospitality when we had a rental car issue and Jim personally drove us to drop our son at camp! Strongly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!!

My sister's and I stayed here October 3-5 and had such a fantastic time! The home is beautiful and the hosts are great.. We stayed in the Ralph Hammond room and it was perfect. Ms Faye, Jim and Lesley Bunch were all gracious host. Both mornings started with a wonderful breakfast. And every evening we sat on the porch listening to the peace and quiet. We were close to Mentone and Little River Canyon. Trains at night did not bother us at all.

We chose to stay again at Winston Place and brought our young children this time. We were traveling through the area following The Longest Yard Sale route. It is so gorgeous inside and out and the inn keeper, Jim, is always friendly and fun to talk to. We stayed on a week night and were the only people staying there that night and had the whole house to ourselves. We explored all the rooms at night and my kids were a little spooked but in a good, fun way. They enjoyed the pool table, porch and the tv of course. The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable and very clean. Jim cooks a fantastic breakfast and his French toast casserole is to die for! My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the upstairs porch at midnight listening to all the frogs and insects make their music. I can't say enough good about this place. I love it.

I visited recently with my two granddaughters(17 & 18). We loved the home and our upstairs room with great views of the grounds and private access to the balcony. The family style full breakfast in the beautiful dining room was delicious and enjoyable. We lingered over coffee and chatted with the other guests. A relaxing and amazing getaway. We hope to return in the spring for a longer stay.

This was our first time at a B&B and we were blown away. The house is charming and very southern. The owners were very helpful in planning our trip, and even called to suggest good restaurants in town to eat at before we arrived. The owners were out of town, but we had the delightful Ms Faye to help with our visit. She was so nice, and we enjoyed talking to her. A huge delicious breakfast was offered each day. We were told we're guests this visit, but family next visit. We'll definitely be back!

Everything was wonderful! The innkeeper was so sweet and welcoming! Our room was very clean and cozy and the beds were comfortable. The house and grounds were beautiful! Breakfast was like being at home and soooo delicious! We had bacon, eggs, grits, and French toast! I’ll definitely be back!
