This is a seemingly modest but actually excellent hotel. I have many years of hotel experience and it is the little things that make a difference in a motel. This motel has all the little things right. There are outlets in many locations to plug in chargers, laptops, hearing aids, there are mirrors where you need them and with a nearby outlet for a hairdryer. There is a light over the coffee maker, and a microwave and a fridge. . There is a comfortable chair, good lights to use to read in bed, a grip bar in the shower, the towels are big and plush, and behind the motel is a pond with chairs and picnic tables and even barbecue grills don’t can forget that on the other side of the motel is a street with endless strip mall. The staff are kind. The breakfast is pedestrian but it’s there and in a restful dining area. There is a small store with snacks and microwaveable food. And there is a decent exercise room. All is clean and well kept. Bravo!!!

Edit: this hotel room was booked under my sister’s name so don’t even bother reaching out. If you want a good room, make sure you get the first floor. We had a third floor room. The carpets upstairs are disgusting. It smelled like marijuana the entire time in my bathroom. The telephone didn’t work. The beds are hard. I asked for more tissues downstairs and she said find a cart from one of the maids. Instead of getting it for me which I would assume would be The customer service part of it all, but whatever. The location is just fine lots of stuff to eat and shop around here. I’m not super picky about my room, but this place is definitely not worth the amount of money we paid. And the breakfast? It’s fine if you like microwaved egg patties and microwaved, frozen turkey sausage, etc..

So we booked a room here for a weekend cause our daughter had a dance competition. The front desk lady's rude from the beginning and it came very clear to us she was racist! We canceled our reservation and went and found a room elsewhere. Normally we love Wingate and the rooms are always clean, nice and comfortable. Just the front desk lady here is horrible

Covid signs all over||Hotel to wear||Masks and conduct social distancing? Covid is||Over!! No soap replacements and cable||TV was broke. Wasn’t asked if I was a Wyndham member. Other that it was an acceptable stay. Hotel was clean and parking was good.

My last stay at the Wingate in Montgomery, AL was very nice. Great accommodations. The manager Becky was very nice getting the extra towels that I needed and getting me a shower chair as well. The only negative about this hotel was Front Desk staff Tammy. She had a bad attitude with me when I arrived. The reservation agent Leon, said that I could checkin early at 2:00 pm. When I arrived she told me that my ADA Room wasn't ready yet. I asked how long, then she said 20-25 minutes. When I returned my room still wasn't ready, so I sat,down talking to myself in spanish about her attitude, and then she starred me down and said, if I have a complaint I can talk to the manager Becky. I had also asked for 3 extra bath towels, and questioned me, why I needed them as only 1 person in this room. Maybe Tammy was having a bad day. If not, she doesn't belong at the from desk. Also when I returned the 2nd time to checking, Tammy was smoking right outside the front lobby entrance. Smokers should be out back away from those of us who are allergic to smoke, and in my opinion this ages the hotel look bad allowing staff to smoke right outside the front entrance. Manager Becky and the other staff were wonderful. Only Tammy needs to be retrained or moved to another property.

We are staying long term for business. The hotel is in a great location to several restaurants. The service road is a huge help! Approx 25 mins to the airport. The rooms are large! The beds & pillows are great! The front desk staff is wonderful! For the value this is a great stay! I’m not one to worry about the condition of the exterior, existing carpet & decor! I am here on business looking for a safe & comfortable stay! You will get it here!!

The property is old and the carpet in the hallways shows it. From dirt to bleach stains, they have it. The room smelled clean, but upon inspection of the bed I found hair, and stains on the pillow cases and sheets. There was a throw blanket awkwardly positioned on the bed. When I removed it I saw where the duvet seemed to have been shredded and torn. I called down and asked for housekeeping to change the bedding and was told they wouldn't be back till Monday (it was Friday). I was offered a new room. Next room again had ripped, stained sheets. Asked for new bedding and was told they had to see if they had any and to check back later. Went down about half an hour later only to be given more thin, worn out stained sheets!!! We left the hotel after that. Didnt even stay the night. I was told I had to contact the third party site for a refund. Working on it... Definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place!

The fragrance thing in the room was a little overpowering. A lot actually. I had to put it in the closet. The breakfast was amazing. Good for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
