We reserved the cabin in advance. I will admit that I was surprised at the billing since the cabin was $115 per night times two nights and I was charged over $400. The additional fees include 9% Plumas County occupancy tax, 2% Feather River tourism tax, pro-rated daily cleaning fee, and applicable dockage fee and/or pet fee. Some of these are not listed anywhere so balancing your bill is tricky.

No serious issues were found with the cabin and are similar to other vistors comments posted online, but include:
1) There were no night lights outside the cabin, which created a safety issue. To be honest the moon was very dark and only partially illuminated. But it was totally dark and required a flashlight to walk anywhere on the camp site.
2) The cabin was mostly nice except very dusty. They did provide a broom and dust pan but a wet spray swifter would have been better. I don’t know if they clean the cabin very well since I found insects and bug evidence everywhere inside on land shades etc.
3) The cabin was stocked pretty well, as advertised. Except, there was a coffee pot present but no coffee - good thing I brought instant. I did not use the coffee pot so not sure if it worked. They could switch to a Keurig coffee maker allowing single serve cups readily available.
4) The cabin was entirely made of wood so there was an intense wood smell all the time. It was like sleeping inside a smoker oven. I guess that is expected in a wood cabin but wow it was intense. In all honesty, there was a recent forest fire in the area, which devastated the trees that could have caused the smoky smell. This must have been depressing for all residents.
5) There was no air conditioning and it got very hot during day (80s outside) but higher inside the cabin even with windows open. The cabin did have ceiling fans, but with all the dust it just made it harder to breath. There was minimal air circulation even with windows open so it was hard to breathe especially with wood smell.
6) The heater worked but was electric so it was slow to warm rooms and it did get cold at night (50s) so turn all the way to max and as early as possible.
7) The kitchen, bathroom and shower sinks were all clogged and drained slow. The shower was absolutely filthy with stained floors and mildew curtain. The water pressure was also low. They provided scrub sponges at kitchen sink however the sponges were filthy and should be replaced for every new occupant not reused.
8) There were area rugs in the cabin but they were so dirty I threw them outside until our stay was over. I did not want our two small shih tzu dogs laying on them and getting dirty. I would just throw them in the trash if I was them or at least replace them and/or clean regularly.

In my opinion, the cafe is to be avoided at all cost. The staff are rude to non-locals and the food is mediocre at best. For breakfast, I had corn beef hash and it was so greasy I could not eat it. Asked to wait numerous times as if they did not want me there. Lunch hours are until 2pm and I showed up at 1:45 and could not get served. I waited until dinner at 4:30pm but only to be told it was reservation only. No advertisement of this reservation event any where. This cafΓ© is the worst experience I have ever had with non-resident customers discrimination issues. Recommend going to the Marina restaurant instead. Better food also. Worth the drive which was only a mile away.

The lake was nice but I think water levels were low this time of year (end of September). I think a boat or kayak would have been nice. I did check prices at the marina but seemed high to me so no boat for me. I fished from the bank in numerous places both off the dock at camp and off the dam and stream below dam. I used multiple baits and lures but did not catch anything. Still any day fishing is a good day.

Debbie and Ken Wilson are always accommodating! We had a late reservation for July 4th weekend and Wilson's Camp was booked full. We have stayed here a few years ago with other family members and had a such a great time back then, as well. The place is always clean and they have their own campground marina. It's right next to Carol's Prattville Cafe, which has delicious food. We will definitely be back again!

We love staying at Wilson Camp Prattville ! Ken and Deb are the owners they are helpful and just a really nice couple! We just stayed in the log Cabin again nice views of the lake and you can dock your boat out on the lake. It reminds us of the cabins in Northern Minnesota. Well worth the drive from the bay area. Fishing was amazing caught 2 large Rainbow and two bass. Had a really nice fish fry. Cabin has a excellent kitchen.

Family always camped at Lake Almanor, but at the Campground when kids were little. Now as we need beds at our age, lol we decided to go the Cabin route, but still wanted to stay close to the Lake. Wilson's Camp was PERFECT for us. Friendly owners, cabin was well stocked and bed very comfortable. Walked daily in the Pine Forest and swam in the comfortable temperature Lake. This will be our annual trip. Thank you Wilson's Camp for a much needed relaxation break. You guys were great!!

It's hard to find a place where the road isn't between you and the lake, and this is the best we've found on Lake Almanor. We really enjoyed our stay here in late August, 2016. We could see the lake from our small but comfortable cabin, which had a full kitchen, bathtub, and decent bed. All were greatly appreciated. Not fancy but perfect mountain/lakeside experience. Owners were nice, helpful, and private, restaurant next door very good. We hope to return -- our weekdays were pleasantly quiet.

We have had many memorable moments at Wilson Camp Prattville since 1988. The management are some of the friendliest people we have experienced. There when you need them, but never over bearing. What makes this place so great is the lakefront and facilities.... boat docking, great fishing, convenience store, a dare to compare restaurant, cabins with in your face water views, RV spaces and the relaxing atmosphere. I've found it pretty hard to beat in my 79 years. Jim Trimlett

Semi dog friendly. They charge $10/night per dog, which is perfectly fine, but we were told immediately upon arrival that they weren't allowed on furniture and if there are traces of them left behind (a hair), we'd be charged for it! Also, they're not allowed on the grass, even though there is a poop bag station located next to the grassy area. Then, to top it off, we wanted a lake view cabin, but what they don't tell you is that all the cabins face three rows of RV's, and MAYBE you'll get a peekaboo view of the lake. The cabin itself is clean and large but the staff is unfriendly.

Wilson's camp was nice enough. The cabin were on the smaller side but ok. Need a fan in the bedroom. Just a few step from the lake. ||The owner were very unfriendly. Not once they asked us how ew were doing or if we needed anything. Debbie would actually avoid saying hello even when she is passing me near the lake. That was very disappointing but the other guests were nice. ||I wouldn't return there as I dislike rudeness very much.
