We tried the Wildflower Cafe today for lunch and we were very happy. My husband had the hot ham and cheese sandwich and could only eat 1/2 of it. It had plenty of thick ham and cheese. I ordered the grilled ranch wrap and a side of tomato pie. When I tell you they were delicious…🙌🏻 I want to order just a tomato pie to take home. Take a chance and give them a try.

I understand why this place is not on the list of 100 places to Eat Before You Die in Alabama. The Tomato Pie really was good and the portions were generous. Had a good experience. Would definitely recommend getting there early or preparing to wait. Would definitely return to eat there again. The peanut butter pie was the stuff dreams are made of. Took a piece to go because we were stuffed at the end of our meal.

Ever seen the Ratatouille scene where Remy teaches his brother about taste with the cheese and strawberry? The Carrot cake and Black and Blue Prime Rib explodes a sense of adventure. I’m talking all the colors all the sparks. No kidding, invest in a pallet massage and thank Laura Moon

Such a disappointment after waiting so long to try (kids, busy life, etc). Now that the kids are grown and we have a little more time and $, trying things out we put on hold for a while. This place was long awaited. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our imaginings. Doughy tomato pie, stale kettle chips (from a bag and dumped on a plate), and very unfriendly waitress. She seemed put out for having to wait on us (and we are super friendly and don’t complain - except where needed in reviews 😉). Bacon was good. Hummingbird Cake was hard from having been in the fridge a bit, but good and not too sweet. Honestly, but for the sour puss who waited on us, I could give this place another go (but NOT the tomato pie). I’ll have to give my feelings some time to heal first - unfriendliness is a bitter pill to swallow (worse even than doughy tomato pie 😜).

This place is always great. The service is fantastic. The atmosphere of this place is awesome. Well worth the trip! They have gifts, and pictures you can buy. They describe themselves as the Hillbilly Cracker Barrel.

our waitress,Taylor, was very helpful and kind, we had the shrimp and grits as a starter- it was delicious , then our entrees were the black & bleu prime rib and black & bleu hamburger steak and both were so so good, you get SOO much food. The ambience was just right, live music but not too loud. Would definitely eat here again.

Beautiful, quaint Cafe. Parking area is bigger than it seems when first pulling in. Gravel lot, but there is a handicapped ramp up to the door. Inside not very handicapped friendly. Differing floor materials and levels.
Spent a weekend in Mentone and ate here for lunch one day, and dinner the next. They don't take lunch reservations, but I recommend making reservations for dinner as this place is always busy. Specialty is Tomato Pie, which I tried. Wasn't crazy about it. At lunch my husband had BBQ Vegan Portobello Burger and it was very good. I noticed many customers were ordering their burgers, and the nachos looked really good. Liked that they had several vegetarian, and also vegan, options on lunch and dinner menu. I did really enjoy the Creamy Potato Soup and the Grilled Fresh Caught Salmon with Smashed Garlic Potatoes and Roasted Root Vegetable I had at dinner. Also several tasty looking desserts. The crepes looked delicious. I ordered the carrot cake to take with me and it was very good. The frosting wasn't real sweet which was great for me.
If it's busy, its definitely worth the wait. Food was very good.
