Reviewing the day use feature. Did not use the rooms.

It was just ok. For the price (65/person) it’s average to low grade. The water is extremely sulfuric, so much so that it was burning our eyes, and it stuck in our skin and swimsuits even after washing, so I wonder if they add chemicals. Besides that, the choices are rather limited, only a dry sauna, a room-temp pool, a conversation tub, a single person cold plunge tub and 3 temps under the silent structure. Structures are average as well.

The structure is cool, and a fun experience, but the price had us expecting more. For 65 I’d expect better-kept facilities and/or more to do. The pools could all use a deep scrub, there were films of dirt and rings around the water level - it was a bit gross. It would have been nice to have more comfy sitting options near the conversation fluke as the water can be hot so it would be nice to sit by the side and not have your skin pierced by the rocky ground.

The staff were polite, friendly and accommodating.

Unsure why they don’t have a restaurant onsite with at least an appetizer-sized selection. It is very rustic and just doesn’t provide value for the high price.

Disappointing and Deceptive Business Practices

I recently booked a day-use reservation with the intention of surprising my wife with a visit to this Hot Springs.

Unfortunately, she was unable to get the day off work, so I had to cancel.

When I called to cancel, I was shocked to learn that there is a 50% charge for cancellations—a policy that was never mentioned during the booking process. It only came to light after I tried to cancel.

What’s worse, when I spoke with the front desk staff, the woman I spoke to told me she had the authority to waive the cancellation fee but refused to help me.

She claimed I was being ā€œaggressive,ā€ which felt like an excuse to make the situation personal rather than handle it professionally. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue fairly, she seemed to withhold assistance as a matter of personal judgment.

This, to me, is not only a deceptive business practice but an unprofessional way of treating potential customers.

I understand that small businesses need to enforce policies, but these policies should be transparent upfront—not hidden until it’s too late.

The lack of communication and the personal nature of my interaction with the staff have left me deeply disappointed.

I was referred to this place by a friend, but after this experience, I will not be returning, and I certainly won’t recommend it to anyone else.

If you’re considering this place, be warned: read all the fine print—if they actually tell you about it—and be prepared for unprofessional service if any issues arise.

Spiritual experience.
Great for healing and acceptance. Come with an open mind. Clothing optional. Great healing massage. Beautiful and relaxing environment. Like no other. Bring your own food. Has a kitchen to prepare your own food. Pool table. Has 3 quiet hot springs pools with no talking and talking hot springs next to the pool. The pool is not heated and chlorinated in summer. I liked going back and forth between hot springs and cool pool. It's definitely worth it!

What a great and unique place to stay! I took my GF (now wife) there for her birthday, and had an excellent stay! They provide everything you need to relax, and disconnect from the world while there. They don't have the infrastructure for many of todays gadgets, so if you miss TV then this may not be your place. The Vegetarian food options were excellent, as was the service. A little on the pricy side, but it's all inclusive and definitely worth the cost! This is definitely a "bucket list" type of place!

Wilbur Hot Springs has been on my bucket list since my dad and I picked up my Grandpa there in the early '70s (he had been part of the work exchange/Esalen workshops there that summer).

This has been a crappy year for me - 2 cats died, my dad died, my mom died...I was a complete mess, trapped in a downward spiral, unable to find stillness. I figured it was the perfect time to visit the hot springs. It did not disappoint! I spent three days soaking in the water, being silent, observing nature, fasting, and generally getting back in touch with myself.

I did not use the community kitchen or social areas, as that was not part of my journey this time around. Maybe next time...

This place, rustic, off the grid, and welcoming to everyone, was magical. I drove out of there a completely different person than when I drove in.

If you are looking for a place for relaxation and renewal - this is the place!
