The contintental breakfast was WONDERFUL!!! Lots of options for any diet. The service was lovely, I am dairy free and was brought oatmilk to my table. Timing perfect for our tours. ||The staff at the hotel were lovely. Great view of mountains from our room. Coffee shop was very accommodating and had many options plus lots of souvenirs. ||Holland America staff were so helpful AS were the Westmark staff. Really enjoying our time here. Very relaxed culture, clean rooms, just what we needed after a long day of air travel.

Overall, a really poor experience and I wouldâve preferred paying more if that meant having a clean room. Wish we stayed elsewhere but the options are so limited and this seemed to be the best one when we booked the room. The only nice thing was that it was walking distance from great restaurants downtown and the tours had Westmark as a hotel pickup location option. ||||We stayed in March from a Thursday to Sunday and the room was unclean the whole time including when we arrived which is the reason for the rating. Given the archaic furniture and old carpet, you would think the hotel would prioritize cleaning to maintain it for longer. All the inconveniences on top of that just kept adding up but could be overlooked if the room wasnât dirty and the shower wasnât clogged and would drain properly.||||In terms of inconveniences, the toilet flushing sounds are loud and there was a nonstop drip noise, the single vending machine with snacks wasnât restocked and half the items were empty and their store/gift shop is closed in the winter so couldnât get snacks there either, and the front desk even without a line took a while to acknowledge guests. Also, based on the yelp reviews we decided not to do the complimentary breakfast which we didnât mind especially with all the great restaurants downtown.||||In terms of cleaning, they had access to our room the whole time to clean it - we were out for most of the time and didnât have the do not disturb sign on. Strangely we saw the cleaning staff on our floor so many times but not sure what they were doing. ||||When we first arrived in the room there was a dirty towel on the ground, dirty styrofoam on the Kleenex box, the bathroom smelled, and other random things. During our stay they didnât clean the room even once, they changed out the towels one time on Saturday but didnât even take all the used towels on the ground or make the bed or anything.||||When I asked the front desk if they could clean the room while we were out they said they cleaned every day. When I let them know that wasnât the case, he said heâll send folks right awayâŚthat definitely didnât happen. Felt like there was no effort and I donât think they really care about this given the number of people who mentioned cleanliness as an issue in their reviews.

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms are clean and warm, with everything we needed in them (no real mugs or glasses though), location is great, decor is pretty, albeit a bit inconsistent. Breakfasts were decent.|Red lantern restaurant in the hotel closes the kitchen at around 9 PM, and drinks at 20 PM. Their signature Northern Lights cocktail looks spectacular, but very similar Summer solstice tastes better.|Staff is friendly, but unfortunately, not quite inventive, when one has to think outside the box. We had different people being added to our reservation and asked to be allowed to pay extra and keep the room, but instead had to change rooms 3 times during our 4 nights stay. I don't blame them, 'cause I understand policies, but still think that I would have come up with some kind of compromise, if I were them

I would love to review this hotel well as itâs in a nice location and seems very well kept with many amenities on site. The issue is housekeeping is very lackluster at best, after checking in and going to the first room to find it still dirty(not cleaned at all.) I was switched to another room as I understand that things happen. The second room seemed clean from a 30 second glance but thatâs it after looking a little better when waking up the room looks like it was cleaned by a teenager. The shower still had someoneâs hair stuck to the wall there was trash under the desk and just overall a 3/10 cleaning. I had much higher hopes for this as I donât write bad reviews but beware of the very high odds of poor cleaning.

This was the single worst experience Iâd ever had at a hotel. From check-in to check-out I was utterly disappointed.
1.) I spent 30 minutes for them to figure out how to check me in (On a tour voucher).
2.) The room was filthy and had not been properly cleaned/sanitized. Trash was left in the trash cans and they were bag less.
3.)When told and shown the photos I was told all we can do is switch rooms. To which I was opposed due to me already being unpack and very tired after a 12hr train ride. I asked for disinfectant. I clean the room myself to ensure, I could rest easy knowing the facilities are clean.
4.) After sleeping on it, I went down to check out and asked for the manager. So I could have a direct chat without involving another staff or embarrassing them in front of other guess. They refused me to speak with the manager and after seeing the photos and being told how unhappy I was. I asked for a partial or full refund and that was not possible by my current front desk supervisor. Thus, I was told in so few words âsuck it up buttercupâ.
Needless to say, this experience was horrid. I hope no one goes through what I did at this awful hotel. If you book a tour & you see them listed be sure to call your booking agent and change hotels immediately.

We've stayed here twice now. Nice hotel, good amenities, comfortable clean rooms, good breakfast - eggs, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, etc. Close for walking to the riverside park, and the Morris Thompson Center - who have really upped their game - was ok back 3 years ago, really worth the visit now, and free!
We like their restaurant - "Red Lantern" - good food, moderately priced.

The hotel is well located and is a quiet place. It was good because it included breakfast, although one day they were short of food. However, the manager Johnny was able to solve it. "He was always very friendly. I would recommend a little more cleaning in the bathrooms.

The hotel has a gym, washing room, and breakfast. The room was fairly warm but the water pressure is amazing. No issues with the room and the hotel feels clean. The breakfast is ok so youâre not missing out if you donât attend. I wouldnât mind coming back for another stay.
