My wife and I went here for our first float and had a great experience! Murphy greeted us at the door and walked us through everything. He was super friendly and inviting! The actual float rooms are very nice with a shower and your own private float tank. You are allowed to play your own music and change the lighting in the tank. Afterwards, you can hang out in their oasis room with tea and an oxygen bar. Definitely try this out if you’re looking for a unique and relaxing experience!

I had a blissful float at True REST Float Spa (Old Orchard, IL) this week. It’s very clean and quiet. There are so many amenities- an oxygen bar, an area to decompress and color, a room with mirrors and a hair dryer to get ready post float, a variety of music selections.

Excellent service from Heather and Murphy. I found a Groupon for $45 for an hour, and I upgraded to a 90 minute float. I used to be an avid floater years ago, and finally tried it again. True REST Old Orchard offered an impeccable experience, from start to finish. The room is heated, a very nice touch. The room and personal shower were very nice, and the tub was large and very comfortable. I opted to hear music at the beginning, which was turned off automatically. I prefer to float in total darkness and silence to experience true sensory deprivation as a respite from an over stimulating world. I accidentally pressed the help button when I was aiming for the light button, and Murphy responded quickly. (I won't do that again). I went through quite a journey during my float- first anxiety, then I tapped into sadness, had a good cry, and then settled into total relaxation and bliss. When the music started again, indicating that the session was almost over, I could not believe nearly 90 minutes had passed. After the float I indulged in eucalyptus infused O2, which brightened my spirits and woke me up a bit. I left feeling more relaxed than I'd felt in ages. I highly, highly recommend floating for pain relief, anxiety reduction, and deep relaxation. True REST is the place to go. Enjoy!

Recently I went for my first float, and I will DEFINITELY be going again.

When we (my partner and I) went in, we were met with a calming, spotless, minimalist lobby. We put on the provided slippers and were offered some tea while we watched the intro video and signed our waivers. The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly, and set us up for success. Murphy told us all about the process, benefits, and history of floating.

When we walked through the waiting room/post float room, we passed the oxygen bar, comfy couches and chairs, and tables set with journals in case you wanted to reflect on your float experience.

There are six individual float rooms with their own float tanks, private showers, and all you need to get ready to float like shampoo, conditioner, soap, big fluffy towels, and ear plugs. Murphy explained everything that was going to happen from beginning to end so there were no surprises. He described the cleaning process thoroughly when I asked (my question was more out of fascination as every surface was flawless), and I felt super prepared and safe.

My float was incredible, and the hour went by smoothly as my mind settled into relaxation. I was worried I was going to feel claustrophobic in the tank, but being able to control the lights really helped, and after a bit I was actually able to turn them off! The temperature and humidity were on point, so I felt like I was really floating.

Afterwards, I went into a prep room complete with lit mirrors, hair dryers, and other getting ready items. Again, everything was spotless and comfortable. Then my partner and I met in the post float room and enjoyed more ginger tea and the oxygen bar and chatted with Murphy. There was no rush to our experience. We got to take our time and soak in the experience without feeling rushed.

Afterwards, my neck (where I hold a lot of tension) felt better than it had in a long time. I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend True Rest during the stressful holidays. I think they have a Black Friday deal too, so this is a great gift for someone who’s into wellness or is curious about it!
