Labor Day weekend trip into Valdez stopped overnight. Please don’t let the area fool you. The restaurant and bar were clean, food was delicious and service fantastic.
Our room was perfect with a large bed, clean bathroom and everything you need for a good night sleep. Grabbed a fresh brewed cup of coffee in the early morning and hit the road. Will be visiting again next year.

I didn't stay here but I did have dinner and it was an excellent surprise, especially given I chose the place simply because it was open. I had some delicious Russian manty, and the crab cakes and couldn't have been more pleased.

It had an amazing atmosphere, the food was really good and the staff is super friendly. I love everything about this place, I recommend so highly. Beautiful scenery, great rooms, and there is a historic hotel not in use next to it. This is not an eyesore, but rather the opposite. I loved looking at the historical building. There is also great authentic Russian decor and restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch b/c of their sign that advertised Russian food. The restaurant is very quaint. There were 3 of us eating and we all had different things, 2 of which I can't remember or pronounce anyway haha but the food was outstanding! The Russian Stew pot was so flavorful and yummy! The borscht was wonderful, even tho it wasn't like my grandma's 🙂 The flavor was just delish! The other 2 Russian dishes that were ordered were excellent as well. Lots of great flavors! The owners were very nice and accomodating. The prices are in line with all other Alaskan restaurants but these portions are HUGE. You definitely get what you pay for. This was a great, unexpected surprise in the middle of nowhere AK. Definitely worth the stop!

Never have been more pleasantly surprised in my life. In the middle of nowhere Alaska, I had the best meal of my life. Worked in the restaurant industry for a very long time and everything was perfect. This place is a must stop on the way to Valdez. Traditional Russian food all made from a vibrant Russian family. Only a matter of time til food network is here.

Do not let the looks fool you! My husband and I stayed at the lodge for three days in July 2021. We had a suite and it was very clean and comfortable. The Russian food at the restaurant was fabulous. We were even there on a day the restaurant was closed and they still cooked for us since we were staying with them. Their service was fabulous! On of our best stays while traveling Alaska!

Great made from scratch food and miss Leanna is the best host
