Nice neighborhood tavern with full bar and solid selection of drinks.
I like the bar a lot.
Friendly bartenders and very nie vibes.
Quietly, comfortable, very clean.

I’m definitely coming back for blood mary and margarita.

The drinks in general are very affordable
$5 for whiskey soda
$3-4 for a beer

I don't like to leave a review of a place I've been to only once. Needless to say, I have been to The Works Tavern a few times and it's some of the best food in Chicago, especially on the south side. Mike is a culinary expert and my last visit proved it. I legitimately had the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. The steak was juicy, the bread was soft and the cheese was super cheesy (10/10).

The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and my kids love the pizza! On our last visit, we ordered the fried zucchini, a pepperoni pizza, wings, and the Philly cheesesteak. Everything was delicious and we washed it down with $3 Pacifico beers. Can't beat that.

Super cozy small tavern/restaurant. Had a pizza cooked perfectly. Crust was perfect, sauce was perfect, and toppings perfect. Ate almost the entire pizza, I couldn't stop myself. Lady behind the bar was attentive and helpful, place would be a regular hangout if it was closer to home. Whenever I near, I will definitely stop in for more.

Stopped in around 2 pm on a weekday; had a couple beers and ordered the ribeye sandwich and some wings to go. Food was great, prices were reasonable ($10 for 8 bone in wings), and the bartender Sam was attentive and friendly.
Bonus points for having interactive game shows on the TV

Update; those cheeseburgers they will knock you back a couple hours cuz they're so big with lots of onion ..... So good.....Breakfast 8AM Sat. Sun. Staff/Servers very friendly. Great Pizza 🍕🍕🍕. Clean... Free Parking rear of building

DEEELICIOUS! Family owned, Food is Homemade!!! From the Handcut - breaded Mozzarella sticks, handbreaded mushrooms, hand-beerbattered fresh cut onion rings, etc., to Soup, Sandwiches, Daily Specials, And to the Pizza you know it was made for you!!! Reasonably Priced. Kitchen closes at 9p. Dine in or carryout. (3rd party delivery available)

My favorite bar, best 1 in town. Food is awesome, the bartenders are fantastic. I recommend all the food!
