Pricey. Great views of the valley from most any room but the higher the room the more you pay. Room 230 was probably the best on the 2nd floor and was huge. Room was very clean. Couch was worn and bed mattress badly in need of replacement. Pillows very hard. Housekeeping Staff very friendly. Restaurant ok but only other option within a reasonable drive is Gouldings which we felt was better although neither one is for foodies. Family friendly.

The front desk is very rude and with bad attitude. Even though they have different price options within same floor, The actual room assignment is a black box. What prices mapping to what room, etc, is unknown, seems it all depends on front desk. Definitely the rooms don’t come with equally good view with different locations. We were given a room with a really bad view even we already paid good amount of money. We were asking the front desk to change a room for us if possible, and the front desk is very rude give us lots of ridiculous reasons, like you have to book the premium view etc. In the end , we were given a room with even a worse view. We comes here to enjoy the view but in the end have really bad customer experience with front desk! Definitely won’t recommend this place! Waste of money

The view is absolutely fantastic. You get to see morning sunrise at the balcony with a cup of coffee in your hand, saving all the work to bring the kids out of their bed. The monument valley loop drive is connected to the hotel and all the excursions start at the hotel parking lot. You could also drive about 3 miles down where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset(the sky looks… beautiful)

However, the restaurant is terrible. I’d recommend bring your own food or just grab the sandwich.

Outstanding view of the Monument valley. Can't beat the experience of stargazing from the comfort of your room's balcony.
All the rooms have view to the valley, so you can enjoy the beautiful sunrise from the comfort of your bed.

The view of the Monument Valley from this hotel is stunning, especially at sunrise. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff we met were very nice. Breakfast is included but it's bad: little choice and no fresh food. Highly recommend to book a room here, knowing that you'll get a sight no one else can offer. Maybe bring some food with you 🙂

The View Hotel offers a truly breathtaking experience with its incredible vistas that are hard to match. The rustic charm of the hotel adds a unique and authentic touch to your stay, making you feel connected to the natural beauty surrounding you. The rooms are cozy and reflect the local culture, which enhances the overall experience. While the rustic design might not be for everyone, it certainly adds character and a sense of adventure to your stay. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning views with a warm, rustic atmosphere, The View Hotel is a great choice.

What you pay for here is the view and location. We had an amazing view from our third-floor balcony. The hotel itself is conveniently located by the tour pickup area. However, the room we stayed in was outdated and had an unpleasant smell. Definitely not worth the $400+ we paid for a one-night stay. Some of the staff were friendly, while others were cold. Our door wouldn't lock the day of checkout, it could be pushed open from outside, so we had to pack up all of our belongings and take them to our vehicle before we could go to breakfast. The breakfast selection was good so no complaints there.

TOURIST BEWARE, HERE IS THE TRUTH:

You can't hike after 3:30PM or before 8AM. You can't drive on the scenic road after 3:30PM or before 8AM. If you break the law, you are subject to arrest for trespassing, and may pay a stiff fee (likely) or worse (less likely we hope). Why? So "tour operators" can bring you into the same areas at sunset, starry nights and sunrises. The three most sought-after times to sight see and photograph. This is AFTER paying an entrance fee equivalent to the Grand Canyon. I understand this is not technically the USA, but please allow your visitors to do SOMETHING other than sit or stand on a patio and look out at the static vista (which is gorgeous). Opening a small hiking trail, even for a NOMINAL FEE, "after hours" would have made all the difference in the world. BTW, the tour operators wanted $110 for a 1.5 hour "tour" and since my partner was unwilling to go, I would have to pay for two people. My partner vehemently told me not to dare hike at sunset, so I didnt. We felt manipulated and also trapped. (you can always leave!) Such a shame. Well, I will enjoy the road after the sunrise tours have completed. What a waste to come and stay here. If I had known the details, I would not have booked this place. I am OK with the park fee, but the rest of the story needs to be told.
