This family owned restaurant in California's Central Valley in a farming community in Chowcilla offers authentic Mexican fare prepared by the uncle, the waitresses are a mother and daughter team, and also includes a son and father who helps out as well. The ambiance is fair and decorated with Mexican curtains separating each booth and lots of odds and ends and various other items. sprinkled throughout. The food is pretty good, but not great! I will say that their fried cauliflower cooked in this wonderful tasting macha sauce was to die for. It was nice and spicy and the cauliflower was cooked just right. It's a must try. Yummy!!! However, bad news regarding my hubby's dish of chili verde, while tasty, he crunched down on egg shells. Not good. I think chef uncle must of had a hard night the night before and lost his concentration. I ordered the waffle without the strawberry sauce and when I got my order, what do you think was the first thing I saw? You guessed it, plenty of strawberry sauce. I decided not to send the order back and just scraped off all the strawberry sauce. I also liked the fact that this restaurant had a very good habanero hot sauce which I have never seen at any other restaurant. Would I return to this restaurant in the future? Yes! I think so. It is truly a family owned business that is worth supporting.

Great selection and delicious food, try the birria plate, you won't be disappointed! Beans and rice were flavorful and perfectly cooked, birria was on point!!!😋 My girl loves their strawberry banana french toast, burgers are good and BIG; turkey bacon avocado melt was huge and so, so yummy... Give them a try, lots of new menu items!

Food was okay, but not delicious. Wouldn't consider this an authentic Mexican restaurant but food was good overall, I suppose. One thing I didn't like was that they mixed my rice and beans together. They're supposed to be sides. They also placed my enchiladas on top of the mixed rice and beans, which I also found odd.

Although this restaurant is fairly new on the block and quite secluded on the opposite side of Chowchilla’s busy areas (on the other side of Hwy 99), it’s a authentic Mexican. The young service person I spoke to was hospitable and generous. He mentioned that he designed the entire colorful menu book on his own.

Highly recommended that you eat here. Best food and service—closest to real human kindness you will find in these parts of the Valley.

We wanted fajitas and a traditional mexican dish other than tacos or tostados along with a beer. We had no luck at El Grullense across the street s well as another place alog the way but Pedros had it all. The food was good along with the service.
