We had an appointment here to hopefully get this to be our wedding venue and it was awful.
The gate was locked when we arrived We sat outside the gate for a few minutes called the numbers on the gate with no answer before I decided to leave but my fiancé said we should go back because we drove 2 hours for this appointment. Went back, called the numbers again, no answer. A women then called my fiancé phone, gave us the gate code and told us to go into the office and that someone would be coming by to give us a tour. Sqhe had a family emergency and was getting on a plane but a guy was coming to show us around. I understand that emergency happen and they are out of our control but I would have appreciated a phone call with an option to reschedule or have a showing by another person. A guy came out from around the corner and said he was going to show us around. He said he didn’t know much but knew the basics but the whole time he was talking could not complete sentence. At first we thought maybe he was nervous because he normally doesn’t show but he was slurring his words a bit, repeating things back to back and said “you know” a lot. I had been to a wedding here so I knew the layout thankfully. He said normally there are landscapers and that things would be cleaned up and trimmed by our wedding next year and at the same time said they had a 200+ wedding there yesterday. Plants were overgrown in some places, there was trash out still that he said was from last night. He took us inside and it was worse. There was trash, food, and broken glass everywhere. He just kept saying oh it’s not like this, it will be cleaned up before your wedding. We knew this place wasn’t going to be cheap but instantly decided maybe this wasn’t the place to be if this was how they were going to show the property to prospective clients. And unfortunately this guy offered us no information about the property so it was a waste of time. Sad because any time I had been here it was beautiful.

Palms is my favorite venue for any of my business and personal functions. Besides the absolute beauty of the place, water falls, tropical plants, and incredible landscaping their team is incredibly professional, kind and mindful of all the functions I have ever been to at this place. Their team goes out of their way to make your event look beautiful, tasteful and unforgettable. It is owned by a local family who just keeps on giving and giving to various charities and causes not only here in Chico and the Butte County but in other parts of the world! I highly recommend Palms for your functions!

I recently had my wedding here, and the family that runs this venue did a fantastic job of making things go smoothly.

Since they also own rental equipment (via WeDoDesigns), getting everything needed in one place was super convenient.
The charges for the rentals and the venue itself were transparent, so we knew what we were paying for; no surprises.

I would say that the only real downside, and I am not removing any stars since they made this clear at the outset, is that we handled the setting up ourselves. Although, they did handle the tearing down of the tables and rental equipment, which was a nice plus.

The dance hall includes a bar, five restrooms downstairs and two upstairs, and both bridal and groom suites for people to get ready.

Check the place out if you're curious. My wife, myself, and our guests loved the atmosphere; the outdoor areas were also elegant.
