Long overdue review, but had the most perfect day here! Jim and Nicole helped me throughout my entire wedding process. From the beginning of my wedding planning I knew I wanted a farm venue. I wanted a very simple, yet decorative stylish place, with natural beauty. The Mora farm was the most perfect fit for me and my husband!! From the outside areas, barn, to even the getting ready rooms the Mora farm is the perfect place for all your dreams to come true. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!!

We could not be more grateful to Jaime and Teresa for everything. This venue was our first decision we made for the wedding, and by far the easiest and definitely the best one. Mora is already just a gorgeous setting, but Jim has fixed it up and shined it to a perfect finish. The barn is breathtaking, with the high ceilings, chandeliers in the rafters and the loft - could not be prettier. The getting ready area in the home is just beautiful and so picturesque, and honestly everywhere you look is a photo-worthy opportunity. We had a DOWNPOUR during the whole day of our wedding, and Jaime, Teresa, and their son all worked together with our team of wedding coordinators (Events DNA, also a recommendation from Jaime that we could not have done without) to make sure our guests were comfortable and dry. The bathrooms were the best I've ever seen for a farm wedding setting, and every corner of the farm is just beautiful. We didn't even end up getting to use the grounds sue to the rain, and I still feel like we got our money's worth. Also, the venue is BYOB. HUGE PLUS. You won't regret throwing an event at Mora Farm.

Fantastic venue for any event, we attended a wedding. Rustic but elegant, the land and buildings are very well kept. The main barn is like something from the movies, the exposed wood and iron chandeliers is country elegance. Great friendly staff. Isolated, your surrounded by nothing but fields of corn. Dual stables with horses, one was used for the bride to ride in on. Great experience

We sent one of our DJ’s out to this venue & ran into some roadblocks. Upon arrival & set up at the venue, the DJ noticed that the location where the venue placed the DJ table would not work for the request the Bride and Groom had. The venue had the DJ up on a balcony–mezzanine inside the barn. This created an issue with sound be projecting over the top of the guests’ head about 10-12 feet off the ground. The DJ had to set up on the edge of the balcony with 3 guest tables behind the DJ and 3 tables below & behind the DJ underneath the balcony. Naturally you never set anyone behind an entertainer or speakers.
Our employee reached out to the property management & discussed about better position the DJ. He had no luck discussing with the management. Answers he received were “every other DJ works on the balcony I don’t know why you are having an issue with it” “This is not my problem; this is the floor plan the bride approved”. Our employee was shocked at the answers he received when trying to discuss with management. We don’t know who drew up the floor plan for the event. However, a venue should know & advise a client on positioning a room that does not put guests behind or underneath staff that is providing direction & entertainment.
When the DJ was setting up for the wedding ceremony outside, there was no power for the equipment. He worked with the management asking them for power to set up speakers & microphones. The clients hired a mobile photobooth that was a gorgeous house on a trailer. A power cord was running to that trailer where an air conditioner was operating. Most likely there could have been computer equipment inside that was operating. The manager unplugged the power cord while the equipment in the trailer was running and said use this cord. The management said, “The photo booth company will have to wait till you are done with the power”. This was shocking that the venue was set up for the outdoor ceremony, but not ready to accommodate power for both services the customer hired. The photo booth company came up to the DJ distraught that their power cord was not available. He had to explain to them that the property management made that decision.
The reception was held in a gorgeous repurposed barn. The DJ set up on the balcony with guest below and behind him despite his efforts talking with management. This facility has over 10 industrial fans operating in the building to keep guests conferrable. This is a huge power draw on the electricity throughout the building. Our DJ had trouble with power supply throughout the night. The GFI breaker on the outlet kept tripping. The first time was in the middle of wedding introductions. It was frustrating because the bride and groom paid for a better audio set up that demanded more power. In the audio world, GFI outlets have their place but are not recommended for situations where large power draws are required like a DJ or live band. That set up should be a 20 Amp uninterrupted circuit back to a breaker box & equipment plugged into a surge protector. However, we do not know what electrical code is for this location. The DJ lost power a total of 5 times throughout the night.
In conclusion, this is a gorgeous event & wonderful location. We would recommend this location to others. If you are looking for that indoor-outdoor rustic but quant atmosphere it’s awesome. If you are hiring a DJ or band you need to be aware of your floor plan. If you want them up on a balcony, then plan ahead with different speakers or placement of speakers to accommodate guest above & below the balcony in the barn. A different power supply needs to be supplied or multiple circuits used. Also spend more time testing the equipment to its limits before the event. If booking an event make sure you notify management of what services you are hiring “DJ, Photobooth, Caterer, ect”. Management needs to know they must help your hired services as employees of the event.
