My family and I have stayed here multiple times. But unfortunately I’ve finally see what the bad reviews are about. We are being charged for some nail polish we didn’t have. I rented 3 rooms. The first night we couldn’t stay in the 1 room. Room 322 because it smelled horrible. We also checked in later in the evening so barely did anything besides eat and go to bed. The second night they gave us a different conjoined room to make up for the smelly room. Room 319 had bugs in it and a bucket under the sink. Truly I looked past it. But since they want to charge me an extra $250 for something I didn’t do let me call it out. The ice makers were down. The pool was dirty and not to mention I booked for a pool party with a man who worked the desk and they booked another party so I moved mine to earlier so the other party could enjoy. I’m from the area. But recently moved and choose to support local when I come back. But not to be scammed for my money. Also someone who was a contractor worker who didn’t actually work there was the one to try to kick my family from the pool area when we were already leaving for the other party. Which I knew the person who party is was to confirm all of this. Montecler do better. You now lost. A customer. I’m an honest person and I expect the same from people I deal with.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. We booked through booking.com and I’ve never had an issue before. There was a difference in the tax rate that was paid through booking.com and it took 50 minutes to resolve. My sister even offered to pay the difference but the desk person said “It doesn’t work that way”. We waited in the lobby and needed to use the rest room but the lobby rest room was closed for renovations so we had to drive down the street to find a public restroom at a gas station. We drove in from St. Louis for a party from 3-6 and by this time it was 2:50 and we still needed to change. My sister was having a conversation with the person at the desk about needing to get into our room to change for the party, and the Manager overheard and told her to let us have the room. She then proceeds to tell us that check in is at 4:00 pm and it was too early to check in, when she had already checked in 3 or 4 other guests before 4:00 pm. My sister mentioned that to her so she gave us our rooms a hour early. We finally got to our room and made it to the party. There really didn't seem to be many people at the hotel based on the number of cars that were in the parking lot, so not sure what the issue is. The hotel room was nice but the next day we had no hot water for showers even after the water ran for 30 minutes. We stayed here for convenience but in the future we will drive to a bigger city and stay at a hotel that is more welcoming.

The Montcler Hotel & Conference Center, Trademark by Wyndham exceeded all expectations. The moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning ambiance. Our room was spacious, elegantly designed, and offered breathtaking views of the city. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, including a world-class spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and several gourmet dining options. The staff was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for a truly unforgettable experience.

This hotel is highly outdated. The pictures on the website should be updated. We just stayed on a Saturday and there was only one car in the entire lot. This should have been the first warning. We asked the clerk and she stated everyone was out shopping. The room had a strange odor when you walked in but went away after a few minutes. The couch from the 1970s was a little weird. We did not sit on it. The TV had static on every channel which I didn't know was still possible. The pillows are squares and not rectangles like most hotels. The continental breakfast was frozen stale microwavable sandwiches and frozen pancakes. The dining area was freezing. We were woken up at 7am on Sunday due to the front desk not registering us in time. It really upset my wife which made the rest of the trip horrible. We checked out around 8am and there was still not a single car in the parking lot. We checked out the pool with is large and heated. The hot tub area is covered with a Astro turf. I asked about this and the lady at the front desk stated that the pool broke in the past and they had to use the parts from the hot tub to fix it. Once they got the parts for the hot tub they decided not to call the city of Sandwich to get the permits to reinstall the hot tub parts.
Apparently everyone else is the area knows to avoid this hotel. I did contact corporate with my observation since the front desk was no help and got a standard response that they would look into it. Paid $186.00 for the room. I expected so much more. Do not stay here for any reason. Drive the extra 10 minutes to the Holiday Inn in Yorkville.

Spacious room, clean, indoor pool with a hot tub. We are definitely staying again.
Friendly and accommodating, they also helped us look for it our daughter beloved stuffed dog.

This is an EXCELLENT hotel. Sandwich is a small town and I as pleasantly surprised to see such a nice hotel here. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The staff is friendly and professional. I rarely write reviews, but I am making an exception here. I highly recommend the Montcler.

Room was ok had a smoking smell, refrigerator dirty. Showers was terrible water pressure and took forever to get Hot water. About 15 minutes. Ice machine was broken and customer service was negative 10. We showed up early around noon, had to wait 2 hours to check in and was charged $40.00 early check in fee. Hotel was empty. After check in we still had to wait 30 minutes for the room to be cleaned. At checkout I informed the receptionist that we normally would leave a tip for the maids, but since we were charged for early check in no tip. Please inform the maids. Thanks for a horrible visit at your hotel. We will never stay at any of your hotels again. Lessen learned GO TO A HOLIDAY INN!!! REGARDLESS OF TRAVEL TIME TO OUR PARTY DESTINATION.

Staff was friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Not too soft and not too firm and the pillows were nice and fluffy without being too soft either. Even though my room was facing away from the road the train could still be heard passing by, but only because of excessive horn use for no reason. This is not the hotels fault of course.
Breakfast was simple. There is some cereal, a pancake machine, prepackaged bagels and coffee. Considering the price per night I expected a little bit more.
All in all an enjoyable stay.
