As a wedding photographer, The Modern is one of my favorite venues to work at. This chic and contemporary loft space is a photographer’s dream, with sleek lines, stunning architecture, and plenty of natural light. The private jet runway view from the expansive terrace creates an unforgettable backdrop, and the unique features like the custom chandelier and walk-in wine cellar add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any celebration.

The layout is versatile, offering ample space for both intimate moments and large gatherings. The lounge and bridal suite are perfect for capturing pre-ceremony portraits, and the modern design provides endless creative opportunities. We had our wedding at The Modern and it was nothing short of amazing!! A huge shoutout to the incredible Abel, who went above and beyond to make our day seamless and stress-free. His organization, quick response time, and warm personality made the planning process enjoyable and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the big day. What a lucky bride I am! The Modern was truly the most beautiful place for a wedding. My husband and I got married this past October and have a special place in our hearts for the staff here. Abel, Mary and her bar and catering team. We had a customized buffet menu and signature drinks for the bar which were phenomenal! Brides, please understand that there will always be minor hiccups in the wedding industry. You may feel anxious in the beginning because you have many questions and concerns, but trust me the staff care about you and will reach out. Abel is now the main venue contact so you are in good hands.

Thank you for your patience and kindness. Also, special thanks to the young lady at the bar with the glasses. She was on point with the drinks for our wedding. Much love to the whole team! You're family now.

I had a Celebration of Life at the Modern. Abel and Mary made that event pretty much seamless. There was a mix up in communication on the start time of the event, which did cause some consternation, BUT both Abel and Mary rose to the occasion and, in the end, the event was perfect. A stunning setting AND the food was wonderful. I am originally from the Chesapeake Bay area, so my standards for Crab Cakes is pretty high. But the staff at the Modern presented us with some crab cake sliders that rivaled my mom's crab cake recipe (not as good, but pretty darn close). The food and the service from the bar keep, and the servers was first rate. I would highly recommend the Modern and it''s staff for anyone considering a special celebration. Thank you Abel and Mary (and the staff)!

I recently got married at The Modern this past September and it was the wedding of my dreams! The Modern was the second venue we visited and we couldn’t stop thinking about it during our search. We loved the chic, modern feel of the space. The white blank canvas along with bright greenery made the space the perfect place where my vision can come alive. The venue comfortably accommodated 130 guests and was perfect for a smaller wedding. The venue had a lot of floating shelves which I loved because it made it easier for decorating and designing the area. The chandeliers and the grand entrance with the stairway made it a really unique space that fit our vibe.

We went through a few venue coordinators throughout the process, however, when Abel (the current coordinator) took over, the communication became very stable! We really enjoyed working with him. He was very attentive and easy to work with!

We did have a few hurdles towards the beginning with inconsistent communication and/lack of follow ups. However, communication improved towards the latter half with everyone involved as we approached 2-3 months prior to our wedding day.

With this venue, we used The Modern’s bar/catering services. The Bar was a hit - we got many compliments on well the drinks were made. We also had our own customized drinks and a mocktail named after our dog. Many guests made the mocktail alcoholic which was such a good idea! Some of the food we selected for our dual buffet entree were a little dry the day of, however, many guests LOVED our late night snacks which were angus & chicken sliders with tater tots!

Our wedding was a perfectly executed dream come true that was orchestrated by The Modern, and its wonderful team led by Abel and Mary.

My wife and I discovered The Modern during a special event right before I proposed, and we knew that if we ever got married, this would be the place. Following our engagement, we had a tour of the place with Mary, and we were 1000% convinced with the place since Mary came with the package lol.
The communication throughout the course of our planning was outstanding, and both Abel and Mary addressed all our inquiries and concerns without hesitation and with clear answers. While the conditions of the contract initially seemed rigid, all guidelines and expectations were stated clearly, and both Abel and Mary provided all the support necessary to ensure the vendors understood and executed per the contract accordingly. All terms of the pricing were transparent, and we found the costs to be worth every penny, as we were 1000% satisfied with the venue. Through the course of our two-year planning, Abel and Mary were available and offered the walkthroughs necessary for the vendors and us to plan accordingly and execute an impeccably perfect wedding.

Mary did an outstanding job and exerted so much patience with both my Wife and I through the course of food and drink tasting. She assessed our preferences and perfected our specialty cocktails and food menu to reflect my wife, our guests, and I.

We appreciated the opportunity to host our rehearsal brunch at their Kitchen and Bar located below the venue. Our guests enjoyed getting a small taste of the delicious food and drinks they'd be having the following day at the actual wedding.

The day of the wedding could not have unfolded so perfectly, both aesthetically and logistically. Abel and Mary coordinated and collaborated in unison with our group of vendors, and they really outdid themselves by providing the foundation to our dream wedding, literally. They did an amazing and efficient job at flipping the venue space for the reception. All while our guests were enjoying themselves in the lavish lounge during cocktail hour.

The venue itself is perfect. It is very modern, clean, spacious, classy, and their furniture and greenery were the perfect accessories necessary to complete our wedding day. And that's not all. The VIEWS are one of a kind as the venue has an entire wall space made up of windows that overlooks Long Beach Airport and an outdoor terrace that allowed us and our guests to enjoy the views. We literally had airplanes flying up and down during our entire wedding, with a grand exit of us flying off in a helicopter.

My wife, our guests, and I cannot believe how perfect the entire day turned out. They will not stop raving about how perfect and beautiful everything turned out. From the food to the drinks and the wonderful bartenders, and of course to how magically, beautiful our wedding was. None of which would have been possible without the fantastic venue, Abel, Mary and their team. While we are saddened to turn the chapter from the wedding planning and wedding, we are so so so happy we chose The Modern. The Modern and team will forever be embedded in our hearts and beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Mary, Abel, team, and The Modern!

What an amazing venue and fantastic staff! We just held our daughter's wedding at The Modern and it turned out far better than I could have ever imagined. I give a great big Thank You to Mary and her dedicated staff. They tended to our every need on the day of the event.

Their kindness, professionalism, and can-do attitude made our day go by so much easier.
