Incredibly cozy neighborhood shop with a very friendly owner who greeted folks by name as they came for their regular cup.

Drink and pastry selection were fairly standard, and of high quality.

Decor was nice and I can see this place being great for writing, working remote, or reading. Very worth your time to go, especially if you're in walking distance.

Definitely try this place! The owner is local to the neighborhood and cares a lot about creating a welcoming spot that makes you want to stay and hang out there (hence the name). And they have fun and creative drink flavors you won’t find other places, both year round and seasonally. I personally love the butterscotch. The black coffee is good too.

I went there with my old roommate because I wanted to avoid going to Starbucks and support a smaller business.
However, I ordered an 4.50 large iced coffee and ended up playing 8 dollars. The barista failed to mention that a splash of non dairy milk was an extra dollar as well as a single pump of flavor was an additional dollar as well.
4.50 is purely for black iced coffee.
I did a double take and asked the cashier if I may have gotten charged incorrectly and nope she reassured me I was wrong.
Not to mention that by the time I walked out the ice was already melted and the drink had no flavor whatsoever despite me paying 2 dollars for the “flavor” the pictures I added are taken minutes after I ordered my luxurious 8 dollar coffee.

I don’t want to give my money to Starbucks but needless to say I would have gotten a more stateful coffee there for less the price.

Despite that, the coffee shop is really cute and nice nice to sit there and work
and the owner is a very kind and has now offered gluten free options which I will give him credit for.

Cute, quaint, coffee shop with good coffee and a comfortable atmosphere. Music wasn’t too loud. They have a nice big community board in the back. Service was good too!

I had a really disappointing experience at The Lost Hours. I went in to get some work done and was treated horribly by the owner. He wore glasses and had an unkept beard. Instead of being able to quietly sit and focus, he kept pressuring me to buy something, even though I was just there to work. It's a public coffee shop, and I should be able to choose when and what I want to buy without being coerced. To make things worse, the owner actually pointed out how long I had been sitting at my table, which felt incredibly invasive and weird. Out of all the people in the shop, I was the only one he seemed to be watching, and it made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. His behavior was both creepy and rude. I won’t be returning and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.

Discovered this cozy eclectic neighborhood shop walking my dogs in Edgewater this morning. Bright, busy, lots of great seating, STRONG coffee (yeah baby, gonna get a lot done today!) and Roxy music in the background. Great little spot.

I love this place! I was looking for something new in the neighborhood and saw it was a short walk from my apartment. The coffee and pastries are just as good as the customer service. They greet everyone as if they’re longtime friends!

My favorite coffee shop in Andersonville/Edgewater! That staff are so always so friendly, and the owner really makes you feel at home. Delicious drinks and foods, great atmosphere.
