This place was great! Whirlpool tub and fireplace in the room, the swimming pool and hot tub weren't too crowded, and we had fun in the game room. Close to some really great restaurants, I highly recommend the Woodlands.

Since this was an Air B&B unit, the front desk person didn't know anything about our stay, so it took a long time to check in. They also had a water leak problem, so the pool was not accessible. This definitely devalued our stay. We should've been informed about this beforehand. The fan in the bathroom was so loud and the fireplace made the room unbearably hot. There was no housekeeping, but the front desk person was also confused about that and had me bring all of our dirty towels to the front desk to exchange them to then tell me that these towels weren't theirs and she couldn't do that. I then had to bring them all the way back to our room. Fortunately, when I called the contact number (Rosebud), the lady explained where the extra towels were and there were plenty of towels and pillows. The room keys were also a mess. The same front desk girl apparently didn't program them correctly and only one worked. I went back to the desk to have the other programmed and then the other one didn't work. A different lady had to program them the correct way. And apparently you can't keep the key anywhere near your cell phone or else it will deactivate it. Way too sensitive! The highlights included a nice game room where we enjoyed playing ping pong and would've played pool if we had enough time. The jetted whirlpool tub in the bathroom was nice and big and the jets weren't too loud. The shower was too small and would've been nicer with a wand attachment. We were the only ones staying on this lower level because of the flooding issue, so it was quiet as far as no other people around, but there was a lot of noise coming from the fan machines that they were using to dry the surrounding rooms. The lighting in the parking lot was terrible (way too dark) and dangerous for walking and driving. In summary, we will not stay here again in an Air B&B unit because there was way too much confusion. We would consider staying here again in a regular unit.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our Wyndham timeshare. We had stayed here before in a 2 bedroom suite and this time we were in a 1 bedroom. Our room was quite pleasant. The bed was good and the kitchen adequate, if small. Very comfortable, quiet and peaceful.|The location was great, about 6 miles from Galena, with a nice little store and a great restaurant nearby. There is an elevator, a nice pool and a hot tub, as well as outdoor grills.

Loved the room. Everything is nice and clean. The pool is heated and nice and a good whirlpool. The problem is, there is no breakfast, no vending machines, and not close to any convenience stores if you need something. Not a cheap place and it would be nice to have some food amenities other then the free cookies at check in. Not sure if I would stay here again with all the choices in Galena IL.

My husband and I met my parents at this hotel for a long weekend. It was more like a resort room than a hotel. There was a kitchenette with all cooking and eating utensils, a dishwasher, fridge with an icemaker, double sink, coffee maker, microwave, and even a high quality blender.||||The bathroom was huge and had a toilet in a little alcove between the giant jacuzzi tub and separate corner shower and the bedroom so it was easy access from the living area and the bedroom.||||The bed was comfortable. There was a nice sized balcony. And there is even a gas fireplace! ||||The pool and hot tub were great! They even have an outdoor grill area with nice propane grills. ||||And it's about 15 minutes from the heart of Galena, right outside of Galena Territories. My husband and I rode our motorcycles and it is a beautiful drive there and around the area.

The resort is out of the mainstream of town, about 6 miles from Galena, so if you just want to relax without worrying about the activities in town, it is a perfect spot. The room had a King bed, Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, queen size Murphy style bed, fireplace and TVs in the living room as well as bedroom. There is a nice patio that overlooks the wooded area behind the resort.

The accomafations at this resort are very nice! We have had the luxury of the staying in the studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units and we love all of them particularly the balcony feature. The location allows one to roam about in the area to a number of the small towns outside Galena in addition to city of Galena. ||We enjoy having the use of cooking amenities, the pool, and the workout room. We return often and the only drawback is some of the end rooms on the west side of the building facing the highway which can be noisy on occassion with the truck traffic of U. S. route #20. ||||We love the surrounding countryside and its view driving on the back roads in good weather...very relaxing

A pre-Father's Day jaunt led us to venture about the frivolity of the eclectic Bay View area with questions of dinning suggestions? This was a wonderful & surprising decision by far! The building itself is on the National Registry for Historic places given it's earlier days as an Authentically Designed Schlitz Tavern/Bar! Nothing like the old world charm of a bygone era!||Our wonderful waitress Diana, was great in giving us input on customary practices for the Serbian Hot Tea before during & after dinner! The lamb & pickled vegetables was simply divine! We also tried the goulash & it was quite delicious too... Dessert was home made and well enjoyed wth coffee at the meals end! We were determined to have the opportunity to eat the dessert beverage but they were out of some of the very best ingredients which were definitely needed to prepare this popular treat!|| We are planning on returning to try some items which require an Hour or so wait time & certainly look forward to the pear or plum brandy cocktails! Cozy quaint & charming!
