A unique property lovingly restored by the present owners. The house is absolutely packed with charming knick-nacks and antiques collected over the years and used to bring back to life what was a modern wealthy family home of the past century. Comfortable beds, delightful bathrooms and living/reading rooms available for guests with snacks and coffee at all times. Absolutely delicious gourmet breakfast....plan to skip lunch! My BF and I stayed here for one night and had breakfast the following morning. Outstanding service and the food was out of this world wonderful. I can't wait to revisit this beautiful B & B in the future. My BF has already booked Valentine's weekend that comes with a gourmet dinner for her and her husband.

Such a unique experience with every little detail considered. The breakfast was out of this world - two courses including poached pear with vanilla cream to start with. And the beds were super comfortable so we slept very well. Everything was very clean too.

Enchanting hideaway on a hidden street on a knoll in downtown Sonora with lovely views from antique wavy glass windows. Families are welcome and children will find friendly cats outside as well as ducks and collies next door. Furnished w/antiques and California/Sonora memorabilia as well as stuffed animals with which an attentive parent can distract a child from other treasures displayed about the entire house. | Car restorers will find kindred spirits here in owners Rhonda & Fred. The treasure hunt and thrill of discovery is part of the fun as well as using skills to make it better than new. | Elegant breakfasts served as two courses change daily. Special dinners may be arranged-inquire. Food and service is top notch. | I’m an arthritic 78 year old with painful knees but happily was able to climb the steps up to the house and negotiate the carpeted stairs. Bring a cane and enjoy. They have thought of most everything-just keep looking carefully for each special discovery in the house and the garden. | I enjoyed my walk to downtown to explore the shops, saloon’s & restaurants and explored the neighborhood beyond on an August evening. The mature trees and gardens as well as homes from many eras soothe the senses.

I’ve traveled a good bit of the world, and this is one of the loveliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The furnishings, upstairs and down, are magnificent with enormous attention to detail. Stayed in the Earl Warren room (I’m a retired lawyer!), with lots of light and gorgeous deep red walls. Breakfast, thanks to Rhonda, are delicious, over-abundant, and beautifully presented. Perfect place. Would certainly stay again if in or near Sonora.

So I rarely write reviews. But I have stayed in many upscale lodgings and I am not exaggerating when I (and other reviewers) say that we would give 10 stars if we could! This is clearly, clearly a labor of love and it shows in every single detail. This place is a gem. Rhonda has a gift for intimate design and cooking! Our breakfast was honestly the best meal we have ever had on a trip. I could go on and on. If you are looking for a quiet, intimate setting, you will absolutely not be disappointed. I've stayed in many places that were twice the price at a tenth of the value. And if you are an animal-lover, friendly dogs, cats and ducks (outside!) will keep your (and animal-loving kids) occupied. I have nothing negative to say. If you want a break from the resort-type atmosphere, stay here. As many days as possible. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful experience. An amazing piece of history and attentive host. Breakfast was an art piece. Would highly recommend. ||Cool Rolls Royce in parking lot a bonus!||Walking distance to downtown Sonora and 3 mile drive to historic Columbia. Make sure to visit Ironstone Winery up in Murphy’s.

Wow! I can’t say enough about how wonderful this hotel was! The owner was an amazing host, chef and tour guide. Everything was clean and beautiful. I took my wife and sister in law on a tour of northern California and this was by far our favorite place to stay the night. You walk in and you are surrounded by a quiet elegance that makes you instantly forget your stress. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. I bring my own pillow and I ended up using the hotels because it was so much better! I had to leave early so I missed breakfast but my wife said it was out of this world. I can’t wait to stay again.
