My experience at the ranch was unforgettable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Daily, I looked forward to seeing them. They have scenic horseback rides with wonderful rangers to guide you, a main cabin to relax and make conversation in, and lovely cabin cooked meals. I stayed in the Stage Stop cabin, which is comfortable and spacious for a family, is nestled above the river in the peaceful forest. All of the cabins on the property are historic and well built. I recommend this ranch because of the friendly staff, the welcoming environment, the comfortable cabins, and the loads of fun I experienced daily.

The uXu Ranch was an incredible experience for us. The ranch is gorgeous and in a beautiful, picturesque setting. The cabin was fantastic, clean and comfortable. The lodge is a wonderful place to eat with the best food we have ever had. The Bad Bear bar is a charming place to have a drink and converse. There are also rooms for games and lounging about. The pictures in the lodge have to be seen, the owner did all of them, you will be impressed. The deck is fabulous, looking out at the mountains and the horses with three big fire pits; we spent time day and night relaxing and socializing there.| |All-inclusive with great trail rides, fishing spots, a fun day whitewater rafting, trip to the Cody Museum, which is fabulous, and more. I can't say enough about John Hoskins, the owner. He is the nicest guy you could ever find who believes in taking great care of his guests; he goes out of his way to help everybody and make sure they are having a good time. He socializes with everybody and is a fun guy to be around with a phenomenal sense of humor, which is especially important to me. He knows the horse and ranching business intimately from years of experience.||The wranglers, lodge staff and chef were the best ever encountered and so nice, helpful and congenial. My kids are terrible eaters and they loved the food here. We stayed at UXU for 3 nights in Aug 2024, and loved it. John, Peggy, Mike, and the rest of the staff made us feel so comfortable. The ranch itself is lovely, with an especially stunning view over the horses' area. The wranglers taught us how to ride, and even my 8 year old was able to ride a horse herself by the end of our stay. We also enjoyed a rafting trip and night at the rodeo coordinated by UXU. A truly unforgettable experience in the high desert of WY.

My wife and I decided to spend our honeymoon here and couldn’t have asked for more from our once in a life time trip. Everyone on the staff went above and beyond to give us an incredible experience - from the world class chef Kimberly, to the ranchers who took us on personal tours into the mountains, and the property owner/manager John spent his evenings telling wild stories by the fire. Our amenities were charming beyond words. The stone fireplace and porch overlooking the stunning valley landscape were breathtaking. We can’t wait to be back year after year to this charming piece of history.

We just got back from 5 incredible nights at the gorgeous UXU ranch. I had been thinking about going to a dude ranch for years and had high expectations and our week at UXU exceeded them all. John is such a warm and gracious host and the location is incredibly stunning. It was myself and my 11 year old son and we both had so much fun horse riding, rafting, going to Yellowstone, the rodeo and just enjoying time on the ranch. The food was outstanding as well which made the week even better. And we both said we slept so well in the cabin because the bed was super comfortable.

I chose this ranch by pure chance when I decided to take my trip to Wyoming, and I never thought I would leave a piece of my heart at UXU. My boyfriend and I knew the trip would be beautiful, but not this much. When we arrived at the ranch, we were greeted by John, the owner, who had great charisma and a strong personality. The ranch was nestled among the mountains, and from our room, Cheyenne, which was right in front of the horse corral, there was a dramatic, wonderful, almost cinematic view. The horses were let loose in the evening and grazed freely in the meadow with a view of the mountains; it really felt like we were in the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.||Our room was small but beautiful, super cozy, all wood with every detail carefully attended to. It was a pleasure to sleep in that room, which also had a small patio with wooden rocking chairs. As for the food, it was all-inclusive, with three meals a day at set times. The main lodge was stunning, with every detail meticulously curated; all the photos on the walls were not random but were taken by John, who, besides being the ranch owner, was also a professional photographer. He was so kind to share the history of the ranch with us, and every time we met him, it was an opportunity to hear his stories. For a moment, I felt like I was in the movie The Horse Whisperer.||We also enjoyed the activities a lot. We went rafting (an experience we’ll never forget), and I rode horses as often as I could (though unfortunately never at a fast pace or trot, as the terrain was quite rocky and dangerous for galloping, which was a bit disappointing but unavoidable). We also went to a rodeo in Cody, and we stayed for three nights. If I had known I would have enjoyed it so much, I would have stayed longer. I will definitely return. I will never forget that wonderful view and the feeling of being in the land of grizzlies and wild animals (I always had the sense that there were animals around, even though I couldn’t see them). That place was fascinating, just as John was. Thanks to the entire team for making us feel almost like family; my boyfriend and I thank you. See you soon.

What a great vacation! I spent a week there and had the best time. My friend who Iwas to go with me had to cancel and I thought what the heck i will go by myself. I am so glad I did. The others at the ranch quickly became friends and — We had a fabulous tour of Yellowstone, a wonderful white water raft trip down the Shoshoni river, a trip to the rodeo, great food and great fellowship. All of the staff and John were the best I will be back.

I could not recommend a better place for the perfect paradise getaway. The cabins are wonderful with plenty of room and the views are spectacular… but even more so- the staff. I cannot say enough kind words about how caring and friendly the staff is here. They really treat you like family. I will come back here every chance I get. Note: If you are in town, DO NOT miss out on the Mother’s Day dinner. The food was outstanding!!
