First time stopping by. Very neat, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and interacted with the kids. Food was good, but not anything spectacular to rave about or recommend (from what we picked).... nothing was 'bad' though, we'd come back. Kid's chicken strip meal lacked a bit on serving size compared to other places - it was 2 strips on the smaller side, and maybe 3-4 happy face potato fries (you can pick other sides though). Because of the small portions, we opted for the Cookie Monster dessert.... which was probably the best cookie monster we've had (can only compare to maybe 2 other places). Overall, a good experience. 2 burger platters for adults, 2 kids meals, 1 dessert, and a few adult drinks came to around $75.

We stopped in on a Friday night, the haystack onion rings were very good- light, crispy, & freshly made; the Italian sausage soup was very hearty with a great flavor; the grouper sandwich had a generous portion of delicious fish ( the dill aoili sauce is wonderful) ; chicken Caesar salad had a very generous amount of chicken... others in our large group had pasta..they are of Italian heritage & they raved about the pasta. All of our food had generous portions & delicious. It's a small town, family owned restaurant..we will definitely continue to support them.

The pasta sauce though it says is a famous recipe, I found it to be very bland. The spaghetti noodles were tasteless. The tortellini were not too bad. For $17 I would have expected a bit larger portion. Even the side salad that was included was very small. You probably should have saved yourself from serving the tiny piece of bread with it. The wait staff are friendly and mostly attentive. It's hard to teach the younger generation not to be on their phones at the front counter so much. I would come back but Will have less expectations and know it's going to be expensive.

The Farmstead is a great farmhouse style restaurant. Food was delicious and came out fast. Server was very friendly and helpful. I had the Farmstead wrap. It was tasty, the sauce was delicious. Onion rings were good, maybe a little to thin for my liking though. Coworker had the tenderloin. He was very impressed and said it was good sized, very tender and juicy. I will definitely be back.

Quaint small town place with a great rustic theme. Friendly server, clean place, and fast kitchen. Didn't get the light sauce on my burger like I ordered, but nevertheless, it tasted great, as did the HOT crunchy french fries. Expect a "credit card surcharge" of 3% if you're paying with plastic, but I still recommend this place.

Steaks were not good !! Ribeye was tough. Had to send back the prime rib 3 times. Ask for medium the first time was more that well done, sent it back was raw, came back the 3rd time and still wasn't right and tough also. We just kept bc hungry, and everyone else was done already. Pasta was good. Don't get steak is all I'll say. Plus all we got was, "Oh, Sorry" had to pay full price for it. Thought a discount might have been nice or something.

Shrimp Dinner portion was extremely small and under seasoned. Shrimp Po Boy was not very authentic and too wet. I would expect better value from small town Roanoke, IL. This meal was supposed to come these crackers and garlic cheese spread but I had to remind the waitress to bring those out at all. Salad bar was understocked with wilted lettuce and few options.
