As someone who is familiar with the hotel, I have a few things to say. The owners of the Downtowner have put their life force into the hotel. They work tirelessly to create a pleasant stay. Without a doubt, the quality of the rooms and the value for what you pay for it is unmatched!

As a travel nurse, it's important for me to find safe, affordable, and convenient housing. The Downtowner has gone above and beyond. So much so, that I've stayed for my entire 7 month contract.

If you're a travel nurse, there is a serious lack of temporary housing in Cheyenne, so I highly encourage you to check this place out. It is also only 6 blocks from the hospital and cancer center.

It's all inclusive, so no utilities to worry about. The rooms are newly renovated and updated, and clean! Laundry is on site, and Paris West is downstairs where you get a discount, and their food is some of the best in Cheyenne. There's a parking lot that always seems full but I've never had a problem getting a spot. Street parking is free after 5pm with no time limit though, which is very convenient.

You are in the heart of downtown Cheyenne, but the area is safe and clean and the building is secure with a keypad entry. It's truly a great location as you can walk to pretty much anything downtown and are super close to any events at the Depot.

It's pet friendly, but I've never been bothered by barking dogs or unruly pets. Everyone has been extremely respectful of each other.

Maintenance issues happened, as with any place, but what sets The Downtowner apart is the quick response from the owner and almost immediate solutions and resolutions. The owners are transparent and honest and truly care about your experience here.

I've always been met with a smile and hello from Carter and Corey, who both go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of.

If I'm ever back in Cheyenne for an extended time, The Downtowner is where I'll call home.

This is a very unique set up. No regrets staying here, decent value, but I wanted to write a review for others to understand the vibe here.

This used to be a vertical motel ( 3-4 floors up but exterior doors access the rooms: reference an outdoor picture of it to see what I mean. It’s In the heart of Cheyenne. It has been converted and remodeled into suites that can be used ( with some creativity) to stay longer (for example travel nursing)

Some cool nice things:

although this hotel does not have a front desk, help is available using email and text. I made a mistake in my reservation and they fixed it for me over email, very courteous and helpful.

The entrance is secure using your room code to enter the lobby, so you don’t have to worry about random people having easy access to your hotel door, which faces outside.

The location is perfect for wandering around downtown Cheyenne which is so charming.

The room is equipped with some kitchen items such as a toaster oven , fridge, microwave, utensils, plates and cups.

Things we found either strange or not good:

The bed is small and smushed up against a large sort of built in shelf making it feel further cramped. There is nothing functional on the other side of the shelf! Just empty space with an extension cord suspended across it.

The two sinks next to each other is redundant and decreases any kitchen functionality. The sink which seems to be for bathroom use is tall and has raised tall sides. I could hardly get my hands into it as a short person.

The curtains do not block any light, and there’s exterior lighting around the building that shines into your room all night long.

Set up in the room is just really random. A power cord is strung from the wall, crosses to the microwave going through the middle of the room. The giant ( built in!) shelf that I mentioned earlier has being pushed against the bed has been repurposed to hold various kitchen items ( nice in concept?) but lacks functionality.

The lobby area fails to let you know that you are in the right place, and is full of random signs, notices, even a blow up beach toy of some kind the day we arrived. It sat there our entire stay.

Overall we are glad we stayed here, given its location and the courteous way we were treated. Prob would not stay again because we didn’t sleep well.

This place is an excellent stay. I have been for around 7 months now and have nothing but great thing to say. Everyone is very professional and willing to meet your needs. If your looking for a great hotel for a great price look no further the downtowner is the place for you.

Great place to stay! Very welcoming , rooms up to date. You receive a discount at the restaurant below which has excellent food. Highly recommended for a long stay or short stay. Owner and staff are all very hospitable.

Great food. Great location. So walkable through the downtown. Perfect for a month to a year stay. Nice decor in rooms and great bar and restaurant on main level. Highly recommend.

Conveniently located in downtown Cheyenne this place is perfect for temporary long or mid term stays. Working remote from Cheyenne for the summer? Perfect. Building a data center? Perfect. Putting world ending nuclear missiles in the ground nearby? Perfect. Whatever your reason for needing to be in Cheyenne on a temporary basis, the downtowner is a great spot for your long term stay.
