I don’t normally leave negative reviews, But this place definitely needs one. My wife and I came in for dinner with another couple on a date night. We were literally driving through the area and my buddy told me to pick somewhere. I picked The Docs Inn based on things I’ve heard about this place in the past. I had heard they had great food. That couldn’t be any further from the truth.

When we came in, we were not greeted. I had to ask if we could sit down or wait to be seated. The friendliest (the other one was clearly leaving and very grumpy) of the two bartenders turned around and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. He did not come over with menus, or ask us about drinks. I had to get up and go to the bar to ask for menus.

The menus were a single sheet of paper, dirty paper at that. The menu was extremely limited. For my experience in food service, I realized very quickly that they did not offer any fried options. Very simple items, with very simple sides. We figured how bad could they screw up a sloppy Joe or a chicken wrap. But, they did.

The chicken was pre-cooked, you could tell right off the first bite, very firm and chewy. The wrap was full of way too much ranch, your basic iceberg lettuce from a bag, and a couple other specs of tomato and onion. The baked potato that I was served with my meal, that I had to pay two dollars extra for, tasted like sweet soapy water. I know that sounds strange, but that’s the only description I can come up with.

My wife had the tacos, about the only thing that wasn’t bad. My best friend ordered the sloppy Joe, and it was awful. The meat tasted like it had been sitting around for weeks, and the bun was soggy. All in all, we will not be returning to this place to eat again.

This place may have been good at one time, but it is definitely not what it once was before. I hope the owner sees this, and makes some changes. Especially seeing as all four of us made multiple trips to the bathroom, the rest of the evening.

Please be better and try harder.

My first time trying their food me and my husband and we ordered gyro and a chicken salad it was very late in which this restaurant doesn't close until 3am. When we got our food to eat it was terribly horrible everything was awful the chicken was processed from a bag you purchased from the freezer of the grocery store It wasn't real chicken breast. These restaurants don't take pride in Authentic quality food anymore it's all about propaganda and profit it's sad. Never will I eat from here. 3 stars is only because the young lady who took our order was polite. Here's the photo

Pretty awesome experience with my first visit. Nachos on special above average, good quality and fresh ingredients. Gyro basket was awesome. Docs sauce is interesting in a good way, tangy honey mustard. Tenderloin steals the show. Different from many places by being a bit thicker and fits nicely on the bun. Tried the special called the Kewanne. Also capped off with superior service from our waitress whom I am calling side ponytail girl, because I didn't ask her name. She had answers to all our questions. Update: according to my receipt her name was Ashley. Great job Ashley thanks again.

It was horrible!!!! I will not be going there again. I had ordered a beef sandwich with a bake potato. I got a hot RAW potato with meat and cheese thrown on top to cover up the bad spots on the potato. The Cole slaw was hotter that the potato. The service sucked!!! The bar tender look like she was high as a kite or drunk if not both.

Haven't eaten here in several years until today, and WOW has it changed. Never again will I come back nor recommend to others.
The food is horrible now. Gyro meat is frozen/pre-cut slices. It isn't shaved off the spit anymore. They don't have fries anymore. The menu is VERY limited compared to what it used to be. I can make better gyros at home from a kit bought at Aldi.
The service was...existent. Bartender served us with as little effort and conversation as possible.
The atmosphere was....bad. One customer sitting at the bar during peak lunch hour, and every wall surface is covered by a TV or gambling machine. They even moved the kitchen to hold more slot machines.
This place used to be "the Dr. Gyros of the East", now it's just a dump that needs to close.
Go to Rock Island for decent food, service, and atmosphere.

I've had their meatballs and chicken wraps. Both were very good. I go to play the slot machines. They always come and ask if I'd like anything, one of the few places that asks the slot players. Bartenders have always been very friendly.

Pretzels were rock hard. They no longer have fries which was a reason why we picked that place instead of uncle Pete's b.c the fries were better there. Coleslaw was terrible. No food for kids. The server / bartender was great, just very unhappy with the food.
