We just had our wedding at The Crawford in March and it was the BEST experience! The Crawford is stunning, elegant, and spacious. We worked with Catie, Anna, and Oliver who all were excellent with communication and kindly answered all my many many questions. They worked with me and my budget and were a friendly and calming presence on my wedding day. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Thank you for helping to make our day so magical!

I am a wedding and corporate event planner and love working at The Crawford. It has flexible spaces that allow for different types of gatherings to be held, and the photos will be stunning. Very little decor is needed, as the space is well-designed and beautiful, with lots of windows and good lighting. There is a built-in bar with the option of adding additional bars to accommodate your guests. Highly recommend this space!

The Crawford was the perfect setting for the Edgar Allan Poe speakeasy—spacious, elegant, and full of charm. From the moment we walked in, the venue’s open layout and inviting ambiance set the tone for a memorable night. Even with a full crowd, it never felt cramped, and the flow between performances and cocktails was seamless.

The acoustics were absolutely spot-on. Whether it was the haunting poetry of The Raven, the chilling tale of The Black Cat, or the immersive heartbeat stomp in the opening story, every word and sound carried clearly throughout the room. The music choices were on point and added to the eerie yet fun vibe of the night.

Each story was paired with a themed cocktail (four in total, all delicious!), and the smooth service and space allowed for easy transitions between stories without interrupting the atmosphere.

While seating could use some tweaks—uncomfortable chairs and no elevation made it harder to see from the back—The Crawford’s beautiful setting and excellent sound quality made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Reserved seating and perhaps elevated platforms would take it to the next level.

Final thoughts: The Crawford elevated the Edgar Allan Poe speakeasy into something special. With its spacious design and perfect acoustics, it turned a night of spooky storytelling and craft cocktails into an unforgettable experience.

The Crawford was such an amazing wedding venue amongst all the choices in the Chicagoland area! They are a newer venue, but you could never tell! Everything ran so smoothly and the space is so customizable. You are able to bring in all your own vendors and decor, which you can make your own! I loved having my wedding there and would recommend this venue to anyone!

What a beautiful and fun venue! I absolutely loved the layout, with each room offering its own unique vibe. Anna was incredibly helpful and a joy to work with - she went above and beyond, providing all the information I needed and more. The staff who assisted on the day of the party were amazing and helped make the event seamless.

The only slight inconvenience was having to supply my own tablecloths and linens.

Overall, I highly recommend this venue! Such a beautiful place.
