As a wedding photographer, The Carter is definitely in my top 5 favorite venues I've ever worked at. First, it is a STUNNING space with tons of natural light. The getting ready suite upstairs is spacious and also provides great natural light. Parking is a breeze, the indoor/outdoor setup is so lovely, and the staff is so kind. I worked alongside Stefan and he made sure I had everything I needed. You could tell the staff was truly interested in making sure my couple would have the best day possible. I highly recommend The Carter to any couple looking for a wedding venue!

We recently had our wedding at The Carter, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we toured the venue to the day of our event, everything exceeded our expectations.

First, the venue itself is stunning—beautifully designed with a perfect blend of elegance and modern touches. The space felt luxurious yet comfortable, and it made for the most picturesque backdrop for our ceremony and reception. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how beautiful everything looked!

A huge shout-out goes to Stefan, the venue coordinator, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. Stefan was attentive to every detail, incredibly organized, and always made sure things ran smoothly. He was there for us every step of the way, ensuring that all of our requests were met and that the day unfolded flawlessly.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Chris, the owner of The Carter. His passion for the venue truly shines through, and he was hands-on throughout the planning process. Chris and his team went above and beyond to make sure our day was as special as we had imagined.

Finally, the food! It was nothing short of amazing. From the appetizers to the main courses, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about the meal, and it definitely added an extra layer of excellence to the entire day.

We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of The Carter. If you’re looking for a venue that offers stunning beauty, top-notch service, and incredible food, this is the place.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have our wedding reception at The Carter in June. From the moment we first toured The Carter up until a few days after our wedding, Chris (owner/operator) and the rest of The Carter staff went above and beyond for us. Chris was super responsive, so easy to work with, and created such an amazing vision for our day. Chris knows what is important to wedding guests and makes sure to prioritize those things - short lines for the bar, guests having a drink in their hand, food served quickly, etc.

Everything about the space is perfect, the bridal suite is huge and has so much natural light. I got ready in the morning in the bridal suite and had 10 bridesmaids, my mom, 2 hair stylists, and 2 makeup artists in the space and there was plenty of room for all of us. Our hair stylists, makeup artists, and my bridesmaids raved about the bridal suite - definitely a huge perk of The Carter! The patio space is perfect for cocktail hour, I loved having that outdoor feature and so did our guests. The entrance/welcome space is stunning and such a great way to welcome guests into the space. The main reception area is so beautiful and has so much character with the brick walls and chandeliers that you need minimal decorations/florals which was a huge draw for me. The dance floor is big and fit our band along with all our guests. We were very fortunate to have a perfect 70 degree day so the garage doors were open throughout the entire cocktail hour and reception which was amazing. Literally, every single guest of ours raved about the space. I could go on and on about how amazing it is!! There is also parking easily available which is very rare for wedding venues in the city. We were also surprised the day of our wedding when they let us up onto the roof to get some fun golden hour shots. We had no idea they had roof space that was accessible for that type of pictures!

I can't say enough about the staff at The Carter. I already mentioned how great Chris is. Stefan was a newer addition to The Carter staff and we were fortunate to work with him in the last week leading up to our wedding. He was there to let us drop off stuff a few days prior to the wedding and he had everything organized for us. The day of the wedding, Stefan was making sure our drinks for the bridal suite were on ice, he made sure trash was cleaned up, and would continually check on us to see if we needed anything. He told me, "you're not lifting a finger today" and me and my bridesmaids were so appreciative of everything he did for us. At the cocktail hour and reception, the servers and bartenders were great. Food came out quickly and there were no issues. Stefan was even sweet enough to let us leave some stuff after the reception and my friend came by to get the rest of it on Monday.

Moral of the story is The Carter is hands down the best and really wants to make your wedding day perfect for you. Our day was literally perfection and we have The Carter to thank for that!

We got married at The Carter in October and had an amazing experience start to finish. The owner Chris is helpful, flexible, and a quick responder. He focuses on the small details which means so much as you’re dealing with so many logistics and timelines. He worked with us on every unique request.

The entire staff was attentive, quick, and calm. Many of my guests commented on how well the event was staffed in general and how smoothly things moved along.

We could not have had a better experience, and loved every second of our wedding day. The venue is so beautiful in itself that minimal decor is needed! You will be grateful if you book the Carter for your next event!

10/10 experience! The venue (inside and outside venue), the bar staff the servers, Mena and Stefan were absolutely incredible!!! The process from 1st walkthrough to the wedding day was seamless. My guests kept raving about the appetizers, the servers, the bar staff, and the main entrées. Top notch all the way around!!! Do not miss an opportunity to check out this venue! You too can have the wedding of your dreams!!! Chris (owner) and George are so accommodating- you ask, they deliver!!

We liked this venue. Great parking (30) spaces, plus street parking. large open space with options to separate. Champagne wall and other amenities. The tour guide Stephan was great…. Still looking though , this is an excellent venue for a large shower or party.

My husband and I cannot say more AMAZING things about our experience at The Carter Chicago!! Our wedding was everything we dreamt of and more! Chris (the owner and operator) is not only wonderful to work with, he is a visionary! He was so responsive to all of our communication, and so accommodating given our requests - We had a non-traditional cocktail style reception. He made sure no one would be without food or drink the whole night and that the flow would work perfectly - and he did exactly that! I felt like he was planning his own wedding with us with how much care and detail he showed us. The space itself is beautiful too. Chandeliers, gorgeous exposed brick, fits a live band perfectly, etc! It also has classy garage doors that can open to a courtyard where our ceremony ended up being - outfitted with lights, and heaters for guests! Not to mention the bathrooms are beautiful too (and we toured other places that simply didn't compare on all fronts). We had our wedding at the end of Fall and changed the ceremony outside THAT DAY! and Chris' team couldn't have done a better job transforming the space and doing it quickly! Last thing I'll say, half of our guests came from MN and also LOVED the area. We had them stay in the West Loop, and transportation was easy and so many fun things around! As you can see, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SPACE!!!

We celebrated my father's 70th birthday at The Carter, and it was
BEAUTIFUL! Our guests were amazed with the space and complimented it during and after the big bash. We had approximately 180 guests. Chris, the owner was extremely accommodating. In addition to the spacious indoor space with separate bar area and foyer, there is also an outdoor area for guests to enjoy. There are many amenities. In addition to being large, the venue is a perfect mix of masculine and feminine that lends itself to any design theme for your event. Also, there's parking!!!
