There is so much to do and see!!! Friendly staff and campers! There are so many trails and activities. The furnace is amazing! They have so many activities planned throughout each month! The creeks and streams are amazing and beautiful! Every corner you turn you are surrounded by nature, if you just wait a few minutes wildlife will show itself!!!

This is a neat little place to come for a day. I would recommend going on Saturday when most things are open. They have some cool cabins and a griet mill to look at. The hikes are nothing strenuous. The general store is okay but beware the creamery doesn't have scoops of ice cream just prepackaged single serve bars. They have swimming and camping. They also have some old farm buildings and a mini train. Most of the place was pretty empty when we went through the week. It's $5 to get in, $2 to ride the train, and $2 to go to the museum.

Absolutely gorgeous park with many RV sites. What a gem! The campground is surrounded by fishing streams and historical sites to explore. We came during the week in the summer for just an overnight visit as we were driving back north from Florida. Not only did we enjoy the peaceful environment, University of Alabama was not too far away - we enjoyed the campus and some local bbq. Would definitely stay here again. And definitely recommend to others.

This place is fantastic!
I love parks with historical value, and Tannehill definitely rates at the top of historical value.
The entire park was very clean, it has amazing walking/ biking paths and a herd of deer that lounge in the adjacent woods.
There were plenty of rv spots, cabins for rent and small "lodges" with a communal bathroom.
I'm planning a trip back next month specifically to visit Tannehill again!

Wife and I first time here. The trails are great easy walking in most places. We started on the school side biking trails. It was amazing area. We switched to some of the easier trails. Great nature hike!!

It’s the best historical park near Birmingham Alabama. 45 mins drive is required if you are traveling from Downtown Birmingham. I believe the main attraction there is the Grist Mill which was established in 1867. It is a good picnic spot in the summer.

I still recommend this place for the beauty of the park. I've been coming here and camping almost 40 years. It's a beautiful place. However, I am very sad to say the campground, restrooms, and public areas have severely
suffered from neglect. The staff does the bare minimum to maintain. The restrooms smell like urine. When we inquired the woman at Registration she said it was bats. I know from experience that is not bats, but human. We are here on a weekend and there are very few campers. It used to be difficult to find a site and now it is almost empty. Not complaining about the peace and quiet, but the lack of attendance is probably due to the staff.The women at the store is surly and acts put out when a question is asked. The man at the front gate is rude and was upset when he had to open the gate manually.

Great historical spot surrounded by beautiful nature. George, the person at the gate was informative and pleasant, he typed his own guide to the park since it lacks the info on the park displays. The museum had a great display of artifacts, tools and history from the iron era, lacked the part of history on the production of supplies for WWII. We were visiting on a week day so most trade cabins and ice creamery were closed. I’ve been in similar state parks in NC, SC and GA were their historical buildings were better kept and plaques with history narrative. Still it was a beautiful park with interesting history to observe.
