The Tallman Hotel is a very special place. The facilities are beautiful, quaint, clean and have a rich history, located in a more remote patch of Upper Lake, CA. The staff were some of the kindest people I have ever met and really made me feel welcome.

The surrounding area is tranquil offering ample opportunity for hikes and relaxation (highly recommend Wilbur Hot Springs if you're in the area as well).

I had a wonderful stay at Tallman and would highly recommend.

Once upon a time, I loved this hotel. I thought it was the best hotel for overnight stays in Lake County. I frequented the hotel and restaurant, I recommended it to many friends and colleagues.

But then I had an unexpected emergency, and I needed to cancel one night of my stay, 5 days in advance. The person who took my call did not inform me that I would be charged 100% of the night that I missed. When I explained this to Management, their response was to blame me.

Sometimes, when you have a loyal customer, it helps to take the long view. Sure, you can rob them of $260 in the short term and feel righteous about it. But doing so means that you have wrecked what could've been a decades-long, mutually beneficial relationship.

I stayed in a room with the Japanese Hot Tub and it was wonderful. That morning I had brunch in the courtyard while listening to live music. I was able to charge my car for free. The entire experience was wonderful

Such a neat little place! Right off of clear lake on Main Street and full of history! The blue saloon is absolutely delicious! We sat outside and listened to live music in the outdoor patio area while eating our dinner. Such a cool experience. The hotel has such a cool story and has been there since the 1800’s. Nice little stop on our way to Fort Bragg 😊

I always manage to stay at least one night when I am passing through this part of California. I really enjoy this small hotel. It is run by a very small group of people who obviously take great care in their running of this establishment.||The rooms are very nicely decorated. The bed is quite comfortable. There is a hot tub outback behind our room but it is too cold at this time to use it.||The breakfasts have evolved over the years. They are still quite nice. The pastries are amazing.||This is a lovely hotel. That has been well-maintained. Over the years. I always have a pleasant stay. I will plan to continue to stay here when I pass through in the future.

OMG, a hidden gem in upper lake. This place was one of the best places we have stayed in on this trip (and other B&B’s) and we stayed everywhere from Portland down to Napa. It’s called a hotel but it felt like a friendly B&B. The staff were excellent! Number one, the cleanliness is immaculate the restoration, the design, the decor, the fixtures, the fabrics and the lighting used and the artwork were just so gorgeous I have never felt so comfortable staying somewhere. The pool is so enjoyable, along with the hot tub and the Blue Wing restaurant next-door was the perfect place to get dinner. The amenities in your room, the bathroom the little book telling you about the history of the property was just fantastic. It was very hot when we came here and the air condition worked perfectly. Even the glass on all of their windows were so clean and shiny, couldn’t believe it. They must have the best cleaning and maintenance crew there. Would love to go back and stay and enjoy the area! Fantastic!!!!
