Update: Went back again, this time mid week around lunch time. Same great service and the food was tasty and well cooked. I think I found a new breakfast spot. New photo updated as well.

Precious Review: 5 star service, our waitress was great and attentive. Food was okay. Hash browns came out a bit too crispy but the taste wasn't terrible enough to send it back. The ambiance was mid. I don't know maybe it's because I came close to closing, so I'll likely come back a few more times and update my review then!

Place has a funky smell when you walk in.
Banana bread French toast were good.
Verde chilaquiles are not traditional chilaquiles… they’re Mexican chips with pre made sauce on top, chicken was not good at all either since it tasted old.
Very disappointing, specially with the high prices nowadays.

Lots of children, which is wonderful and lovely, but loud and the two children behind me kept bouncing the back of my seat. But they were cute! Don't get me wrong. I am so happy to see the business is booming, I just want to make diners aware that this is a noisy, busy place. I ordered waffles and bacon, but never got my bacon. I asked for more syrup, but never go anymore syrup. As we were leaving our waitress said, "Oh, let me get your bacon."

My favorite breakfast place, the portion and quality of the food was top notch. My family and I loved it here and will be coming back again the next time I’m back home in town. Also our waitress was an absolute delight and super friendly. I forgot her name but thanks for being a great server to us!

$19 for the savory crepe (spinach, cheese, bacon, cheese egg white & hollandaise sauce). I deducted the bacon.

For a $19 breakfast entree, the cheese wasn't melted and it came with barely any hollandaise sauce, see photo as proof. Pointing at the plate, I asked waiter if I could have a little more hollandaise to which he informed it would be a charge for a complete side, $4. He didn't care the kitchen failed to dress the plate correctly.

To clarify; if the food description had been written 'with a drizzle of hollandaise' I would accept my responsibility in ordering the food item. Restaurant owners should take more care in their food descriptions in order to avoid problems with customers.

- $48 bill for two people.
- Automatically assume everything you ask for will be an upcharge, even if they ask you what type of toast you'd like. Example, waiter never informed english muffin was more money.
- We waited 15 minutes for water to be brought to table. No refills ever came.
- Coffee was delivered 15 minutes after being seated.
- Check out? They say you pay the waitstaff but then I watched the waitstaff bring the credit card to the host stand. Also watched the waiter go service 3 other tables while walking around with our credit card. Ridiculous. I would've preferred to go directly to host stand so we could leave the building rather than watching waiter provide the type of service to other tables we never received for our meal.

There's room for much improvement. I'm willing to try one more time, perhaps on a quieter day.

EDIT:
I appreciate restaurant taking the time to respond but the response is not ideal. I have ZERO issue paying for my fair share of the food costs restaurants are suffering from in 2024/2025 but the photo is my proof there was barely any hollandaise and the cheese wasn't melted. If that's how you serve it, then just own it.

Secondly, this restaurant location is new and has NOT been here for 12 years. My review is specifically for THIS location and staff.

A gem of a place hidden away in elgin. Wonderfully decorated cafe, which makes you feel at ease as soon as you enter.
People are warm and friendly. Place is clean and service is personal.
We ordered breakfast and it was cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a place where you will want to come back over and over again, you have found your spot.
Highly recommend. 5 star all the way.

LOVED this place. We'd been driving past it for years, but finally decided to give a go. Quite honestly, we couldn't believe we didn't come sooner. The kindest staff, amazing food and a great atmosphere. Shout out to the fruit! Typically, I'm picky about my fruit and need it sweet; from the oranges used as garnishes to their namesake berries-- everything was perfect.
