I would give more than a 5 star rating if I could!!! Mrs. Draxie made this weekend getaway more than amazing! She was so sweet and welcoming!! The house is beautiful and has such a great history behind it! My Husband and I had gone to Eureka Springs for his 30th Birthday and just a all around get way from the everyday grind. Waking up and having coffee in the beautiful deck was so peaceful and the breakfast that Mrs. Draxie prepared was beyond amazing!! I'm not a grit person but the grits she made were so good Im pretty sure I went back for more than just two helpings! I can't say enough about how amazing our stay was!! I can't forget to mention Mattie she's the guard dog of the house and beyond adorable and sweet! We will absolutely be returning in hopefully the near future!

Our stay at the inn was wonderfully relaxing, and Draxie was a wonderful host, and as so many of the reviews mentioned, an awesome cook! Breakfast was delicious, each day. The host went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and happy. We parted as friends and will definitely be back again. People need to realize that where ever you go that everything will not be perfect, but friendship and memories that you make from your journey will be priceless! My husband Dr. George and I loved the victorian, and the history behind it. Thanks Draxie! for making our stay memorable.

We went and stayed the weekend in Eureka Springs for my daughters birthday! Mrs. Draxie was more than accommodating! She made my girls feel like Royalty, the room was beautiful, the meals were amazing and the company was warm and inviting!! Draxie and her son Kyle went above and beyond to make us feel right at home! We will have wonderful memories and life long friends! Looking forward to our next visit, definitely will be staying again!

Draxie made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay! She was very communicable and pleasant and was very kind to our dog that we brought! She took off the pet fee for us because she liked him so much and made an absolutely delicious breakfast! Our room was sparkling clean and cozy and we felt right at home with her. We will most definitely stay with her again any time we go back to the Ozark/Eureka Springs area. Thank you, Draxie!

My wife and I just spend our 23rd anniversary visiting the Sunnyside bed and breakfast. Draxie is a great host and serves a great meal in the morning. |She has so many great stories about the area and about Arkansas. this was our second visit and we will definitely be back for third. Very comfortable place to stay in very pleasant atmosphere. Just a few short minutes of a walk and you will be downtown or at the Crescent Hotel.

I am sharing this so that others may not be shocked when they go through the doors like I was. I have stayed in over 8 bed and breakfasts over the last 15 years. All of them were inviting, clean and comfortable. This was definitely not!! I am shocked about any 5 star ratings. We saw those 5 star ratings that happen to be first on the site and did not read previous 1 star ratings. ||These were the issues: ||1. Upon entering the house, it was dirty and very cluttered. We were told by Draxie that she had a migraine all day and was not ready for us. Her housekeeper was busily trying to get the rooms ready. The main living area which is where you should be able to gather, play games, relax etc. was a total mess. It appears, which later proved true, that Draxie sleeps and lives in this room. The couches had her blankets/pillows thrown about, food/pill bottles etc on the coffee table and piles of whatever in different areas of the room. || However, one of the worse was that she had several pee pads throughout the living room for 2 dogs that she had. There was smell of urine, as well as areas on the floor you could see where stool had been picked up, but not cleaned. When we mentioned this, Draxie was angry and walked away and slammed the door. I have a dog so this is nothing against having a dog in the house;however, this should be sanitary. ||2. You followed the main room and pee pads to the dining room. This was now 4:15 pm and there was still all the breakfast dishes/food etc on the table. This was totally unacceptable. Again, if you look back at other 1 star reviews, it is not uncommon for Draxie to not be ready for guests.||3. Upon arrival to the home at 3:00 which is check-In time, my step mother had to use the restroom and initially was not allowed to come in the home. She heard arguing in the house before the door was opened. She had been asked when she called Draxie earlier in the day to come later to check in;however, since this was check in time, she wanted to use the restroom not thinking it would be an issue.||4. If you have asthma or allergies, it would be awful to stay in the basement room that my family member was staying in. This I guess was the honeymoon room. She is 80 years old, and the steps down to the room were steep. The room was EXTREMELY musty smelling, carpet dirty, heart shaped tub was not cleaned!! Being a nurse, I discussed with Draxie about moving my stepmom to an upstairs room which, per the housecleaner, was not rented that night. Draxie very reluctantly agreed. ||5. When my sister slipped in dog urine, my stepmother informed Draxie, she walked away and slammed the door. Also, we did not like the way she was speaking to or treating her housekeeper. The housekeeper was really trying to prepare the bedrooms and clean up. ||At this point, it was not ok to stay!! this was unlike any experience I could have imagined in a B & B. My sister's first experience was not good!! the cost of the rooms were very overpriced for this type of environment.||When we later found another place and went back at 8:30 pm to get our luggage, there were curtains in the doorway to the only living/parlor room so no way for anyone to gather there for socializing which is what is so comfortable about a B & B. Draxie was apparently there and going to sleep. ||So again, if you do not mind an uninviting, old, dirty, cluttered place to stay, then this may be fine. I am not trying to in any way be mean as these are the facts.||I am also not sure about the sanitary requirements when serving breakfast to customers with dog pads on the floor right next to the dining area. Feeling this is too much for Draxie and needs more help to clean up the house. ||Thankfully, Draxie was agreeable to fully refunding the rooms.

Looking for a place other than a chain, this seemed to fit the bill. All the reviews had marvelous things t say about Hostess Draxie Rogers, and after a visit it is easy to see why she has been held in such high regard. ||||Trying to find the Sunnyside on a city map of Eureka Springs proved to be most difficult. Perhaps contacting Draxie prior to arrival on US 62 might have eliminated several minutes of frustration. ||||One looking for ultra modern conveniences might be disappointed. There is no elevator to ascend to the 2nd floor, and no TV in the rooms. What this 1883 historic residence lacks in convenience is easily remedied by the "personality" of the building, but much more so by the personality of the hostess. The conversation is great (don't expect it to be short) and the quality of the food is memorable.

I took my wife for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We walked to crescent hotel and thats about it. Mrs. Draxie was amazing and we stayed well past checkout time to play board games and eat cobbler. Her little puppy was a sweetheart and obviously owns the house. Lol. Anyone who doesn't love their experience there is obviously a spoiled little only child who can't be pleased by anyone or anything. Its the simple things in life that matter and this place is perfect. If you want to just get away and relax, this is where to go. Thank you Draxie, we will be back soon.
