I had the best haircut experience ever with Grace and Sherry! Both of them are not only incredibly talented at their craft, but they also have the sweetest hearts. They made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in, and their professionalism and expertise really showed. It’s rare to find stylists who are both respectful and genuinely caring. I’m beyond happy with my haircut and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Love you both ❤️

This review requires some backstory

Long story short, I first came to Sherry a couple years ago with a grown out buzz cut. I left Straight Up Curls a bad review after our first appointment.

Let me say, Sherry did not, I repeat, did NOT deserve that review at all!

Now: despite Sherry not even thinking my hair was wavy, despite the impression I had made after the first time we met. She took my appointment. She accommodated me. Even adjusting her usual detox routine to be able to fit all detox, haircut & styling in one day.

I really enjoyed conversating with Sherry. She invited my grandfather into her suite & was excited to reveal the final product to him. Her customer service is top notch, not to mention her extensive professional background! I really trust Sherry with my hair, & that is such a reassuring feeling.

I hadn’t had my hair cut in a while, and prior to that had been growing it out. However, I’d been thinking about a change for several weeks, and decided to go very short. Sherry did an awesome job working with my very curly but fine hair. She gave me the cut style I was hoping for. She also took the time to give me tips on how to do daily styling with the new cut. When I got home, my husband, who after 24 years together, never says much about what I do with my hair, looked up and commented on how cute it looks on me. I’m very happy with my experience today.

Sherry is a curly hair genius! My grey hair came in wavy and I decided to go ahead and see if I could lean into it even though I’d had straight hair my whole life. Besides the amazing cut, she really educates you in how to do your own hair and why certain products do or do not work (the nerd in me loves this). I love how she is continually doing her research and keeping me up to date on new ways to keep my hair looking great. Highly recommend!

I am a new client as of December 2021. I am so happy I found Sherry during a Google search for natural hairstylist. I dread 😬 dealing with my hair and have been this way for years. I tried many different styles and solutions from straightening, braiding, and weaving to eventually just hiding my hair under beanies, hats and caps. The neglect has resulted in my hair becoming unhealthy (dull, dry, no new growth, lacking nutrients) and the excessive use of shea butter, coconut, Moroccan… you name it oils and products did nothing.

I finally went through a process that has my hair looking and feeling like it hasn’t felt in years. Sherry is very passionate about what she does and it shows. I appreciated her taking the time to teach and educate me on the benefits of a gentle touch and having patience with my hair. I look forward to this new journey of rocking the natural curls.

I went to Sherry with desperation to fix my chemically damaged curls…she worked her magic to the fullest! I have never been taught so much about curls that I’ve had my entire life, I felt like a curly head beginner. Sherry was extremely knowledgeable with techniques & products (a curly hair scientist if you will) I am so happy that I was taught each technique at the salon so once I got home (and after reading the instructions a million times) I felt complete set up for success!
