What a great find in Rockford, Illinois! As visitors from New Hampshire (traveling with a service dog), we look for friendly faces when we go into restaurants. Boy, did we find the right place!

The Stockholm Inn is absolutely the BEST around. The staff, especially Jada, were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating.

The fabulous Swedish cuisine is authentic and fresh. Yum! Kudos to the chef!

Great food, excellent cuisine, and a menu with great variety (there is a delicious meal for every taste.

Go to the Stockholm Inn, you won't be disappointed!

I just left Stockholm. When we walked in, the ladies at the front counter just looked at us. We waited, then I finally asked a server who had wandered up if we should seat ourselves. This server was so rude and the opposite of customer service oriented. She shortly said “no you have to wait.” Then turned and just started chatting at one of the other ladies at the counter completely ignoring us. The bad attitudes of the employees here are the very worst part and stands out the most when you’re there. They do not care that you pay them and keep their business alive.
When we finally were seated we waited for 10 minutes to get water. We asked for silverware and the server brought one set for a table of four. I had to get up and get three more sets on my own.
The food was mediocre. Nothing like it used to be. For a place that is famous for Swedish pancakes they weren’t actually good.
The dining room is dated and seems slightly dirty everywhere.
It was not a good experience. Years ago l would have recommended this place, not as it is today.

I've been coming here since 1994. I would've given this 5 stars up until the last year or so. This is because the food and service has dramatically declined. I've always touted this place as having the best Swedish pancakes in Illinois. Now it's been just average. I've stopped getting the buffet because the swedish pancakes have been mushy or overcooked. Today it was mushy. Also people just dig the serving tongs into the pile of pancakes and make the pancakes chopped up. I now order from the menu. Service is just so so because they always seem to be understaffed and over stressed, which doesn't make them friendly and causes many mistakes. I had to ask for my orange juice mid way into our meal today. It's just not the same.

Was looking for some place different and found this long established restaurant in Rockford. We went for the buffet which was economical and great! Loved the Swedish pancakes and lingonberry sauce. They went perfectly with the Swedish meatballs. Nice decor and good spacing between the tables. Friendly attentive staff and a pleasant crowd of people. They have a big gift shop and all things sock monkey. Next time I'm in the mood for pancakes, I won't hesitate and be there for the Buffet Saturday or Sunday. $14.99 per person.

What a delight. Friends who moved from Rockford to California; made the recommendation. We went out of our way just to see what all the talk was about.

The swedish pancakes lived up to the hype and the salmon salad was delicious.

My children and I traveled an hour to experience some Swedish food, and we were not disappointed! Our server (Alex) was very friendly and helped us choose some delicious dishes to give us a taste of Sweden. She encouraged us to look around and take photos with the murals and other decor. My kids had been hoping to find dalas in the gift shop, but those must be hard to come by this side of the Atlantic. Overall, we were so glad we got to eat and visit here. We will definitely find an excuse to come back.

I have to say, this place is simply amazing. The atmosphere brings you to a different place kind of like country. I really love the atmosphere. We had the Swedish pancakes breakfast hamburger and veggie omelette hands down. This is the best breakfast in Rockford so far.
