It was a pleasant experience staying in the Star Hotel. Rooms were not too expensive and they were clean and well maintained. It was a great location near the Williams Downtown area and the front desk was very helpful. She allowed to do early check-in and also upgraded the room free of cost since it was the only room ready early. Overall, I had a great experience in the stay and would recommend to others too.

My go-to getaway every year!

I’ve been coming to Williams every year for the past five years to celebrate my birthday, and I always stay at the Star Hotel off Route 66. It’s more than just a hotel to me — it’s like a second home. The owners are some of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They know me by heart now and always make me feel welcomed and appreciated.

Over the years, I’ve watched this place grow and get even better. They recently remodeled their rooms, and I was lucky enough to stay in one of the updated units — it was beautiful! Modern touches, clean and cozy atmosphere, and still held on to that charming Route 66 vibe. I even have pictures because I loved the space so much.

The location is perfect for exploring downtown Williams, and you can’t beat the nostalgic Route 66 energy. If you’re looking for a place that’s comfortable, welcoming, and run by people who truly care about their guests — Star Hotel is it. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Already looking forward to next year!

Clean and comfy for a quick night’s stay. I had a not-so-great experience with whoever initially answered the phone, but my husband fared better. Make of that what you will, ladies. Honestly, whatever. It was late enough at night and I probably wasn’t communicating all that great either. They wouldn’t take a reservation over the phone, so we had to wait to get there to book, which made me a little nervous because other places were quickly selling out. It seems like they informally held our preferred room, however, which was truly very much appreciated. The woman at the front desk was also incredibly kind and accommodating.

The beds were SO comfortable, and they are a pet friendly establishment! It’s slim pickings for a designated dog area, but there’s a smallish patch of dirt and patchy grass that will do in a pinch off to the side of the hotel. I wish we had more time to explore Williams itself since the hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of downtown (there’s a gas station museum across the street? How RAD) but definitely looking forward to returning! We make this trip along the I-40 corridor fairly often, so it’s nice to have reliable stops along the way. This will surely be one of ours. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy to get in and out.

Excellent room, good location in town, clerk accommodating. Good place if you are on a budget. I feel we got more than what I expected here! Only 2 complaints: No vending machines. TV worked last night but doesn't this morning (which I hope is remedied when we see the clerk)

We're not normally ones to complain about a hotel room, it's just a bed and a shower but this place was bad.|When we first came in there were leaves on the carpet, mostly likely due to the massive gap at the bottom of the door. The bed clearly had a load of dog hair on it and the room just seemed incredibly old and tired.|The bathroom was tiny and during the night, despite being turned off, the air con would just start rattling and making very loud noises.|Also be careful with the door to yoir room as ours wasn't easy to shut.|On the plus side, the bed was fairly comfy and it's a good location for the Grand Canyon.

Location is excellent. Literally in the heart of the town. We had a 3 bed room it was very spacious. Perfect for our family. The bathroom was a bit small especially for my tall husband. Also the office was a ton of wasted space. Could possibly add a bedroom for added sleeping or extend the bathroom. Room was very clean. Only complaint is the bed was uncomfortable worn in the middle and towels were cheap. But for the price overall a good stay.

TL;DR: Star Hotel Route 66 in Williams offers a budget-friendly stay with a great location, but thin walls, a tiny bathroom, and missing interior lock were major drawbacks.

Star Hotel Route 66 in Williams is a centrally located, budget-friendly option with ample parking and convenient access to downtown businesses. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I appreciated the raised bed design.

However, there were some notable downsides. The walls are very thin, so I heard a lot of traffic and noise from other rooms. The heater didn’t work well, and the bathroom was extremely small.

My biggest concern was the lack of an interior-only lock on the door, which had been removed. This became a serious issue when someone was incorrectly assigned my room while I was sleeping, leaving me feeling panicked and unable to sleep well. While the location and price are positives, the security issue is something that needs addressing.

Stayed over in this small motel located off the main street in Williams Arizona. It’s convenient to the local gift shops and restaurants nearby. The room we had was cozy and had been recently been redecorated. Heating was by way of an air conditioning unit which seem quite old but functional. Bed was huge with a very comfortable mattress and the room had a good coffee maker. There was a good sized fridge and a microwave along with a large tv. Parking was straight outside the room on the ground floor. Only down side was there seemed a slight draught from the window but otherwise once the heating had been used, it was cozy. Just a reminder, the town is located 6,700 feet above sea level so we had a shock the next morning to find the air temperature outside at minus -4 Celsius with sleet! Overall it was a low cost hotel which ok for a one night stay.
