I reserved a room here a month before my trip through Marriott.com. The front desk canceled the reservation 3 hours prior to check in. They told me they had overbooked the hotel, so they had to cancel my reservation (and charge me a cancellation fee). Apparently it is normal for them to overbook the hotel and unilaterally cancel reservations.||||My brother-in-law had also reserved a room, and they told him that instead of canceling, they had moved his reservation to a different hotel, 15 miles away. If he didn't like it, he'd need to cancel the reservation (and pay the cancellation fee). They didn't care that he didn't have a car since we were traveling together.||||After an hour of trying to figure out what to do in the lobby - Surprise! - there actually was an available room. So we ended up paying twice the price that night because the hotel was "overbooked" (despite both of our prior reservations), with my brother-in-law staying on the couch in the room.The hotel forced us to use my wife's card, after accusing me of credit card fraud, and refusing to allow me to use my card.||||The second night, my brother-in-law was able to secure his own room at the hotel, and we did not stay a third night.||||Throughout both days at the hotel, my wife and I were only able to speak with a manager once, who assured us that everything would be fixed at check-out. Of course, it was not fixed at check-out, the rates were not honored. No manager spoke to us, despite the front desk taking both of our numbers, names, and emails multiple times throughout the weekend and assuring us that someone would be in touch.||||Surprising from a Marriott property. Wild that they made no attempt to honor the reservation or rectify their own mistake. Would not recommend if you're interested in your travel going to plan or want reasonable accommodations in Dothan.||||Good water pressure though, so star for that.

This is one of my favorite hotels, and I’ve stayed at hundreds! We stay here 3 times a year on our way down to Florida, and every time is a wonderful experience! Sharika at the front desk is so kind, helpful, generous, friendly and professional! Customer service is her middle name!! The lobby and rooms and always spotless-I mean REALLY clean. Plus they have the best breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend picking Spring Hill suites for your hotel needs!

Stayed here for the first time on a trip home from Florida. The room was clean, and the bathroom was very spacious and modern. It was set up to be a great place to stay if you needed it long term. Nice sofa and desk and coffee maker, microwave, and mini refrigerator. The breakfast area was very clean and had a nice food selection. All of the people at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely make this a regular stop on our travels.

This was the worst stay I’ve ever experienced with a Marriott hotel. My brother and I arrived around 10pm Thursday night and I was told that my room was cancelled due to overbooking and my brothers room was also cancelled, but an alternate hotel room at a sister hotel 15 minutes away was booked in place of his original booking. We were both booked for Thursday and Friday nights (2 night stay).

There was no notification of these changes/cancelations until we were physically at the front desk after traveling all day.

In addition to cancelling my room without notice, they also CHARGED me a $150 cancelation fee, even though I was not the one that cancelled.
My brother did not want to stay at the alternative hotel and they told him he would be charged the full cost of the room for that night in the other hotel if he did not show or cancelled (which was $259).

A long hour later at 11pm we were told there was a cancellation from another guest and we were given a room with two queen beds to share at the SpringHill suites, which we were grateful for, and then in the morning we were able to ask the manager to reverse the cancellation changes that they made. We also asked that they would match the rate of our original reservation we had made weeks in advance, and they said they would match it with manager approval. They took down my info and said that the manager would call in the morning to discuss, they never did.
They did reverse the cancellation charges, but then told us we had to check out of that room as it wasn’t available for the second night.

When I went back to check out, I asked again if there were any last minute cancellations so we could stay in the same hotel and not have to find another for Friday night- the woman at the front desk (not the manager we had spoken to a few hours ago) told us there were several rooms available and we were able to stay. Throughout this whole time I gave 3 different front desk staff my contact info and was told I would get a call from the manager or Marriott to review the situation and also to ensure that the cancellation fee was refunded and to match the rate from my original booking.

I still have not received any contact from the hotel and I was charged a total of $370 for my two night stay, not the original $303 that I was promised would be matched. I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I understand that overbooking happens, but the way it was handled, the lack of communication, the inconsistent charges, and amount of time I spent talking with staff to try to resolve the issue was so frustrating.

I was looking for accommodations while visiting family and found Spring Hill suites online. Super friendly staff, clean rooms and great prices. The hotel must be newer because it was very modern! Will highly recommend to anyone staying in Dothan and will be booking next time I am visiting the area. Also big shout out to Charles for informing me of a big storm rolling through when I was checking out!

Angel at the front desk of SpringHill Suites is an absolute lifesaver! I arrived at the hotel around 10pm and realized I had forgotten my garment bag—meaning I had nothing to wear for a funeral the next morning at 11am. Without hesitation, Angel went above and beyond and gave me a dress so I didn’t have to stress. Angel’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made a difficult situation much easier. Angel is truly a ANGEL!! Exceptional customer service like this is rare, and I am beyond grateful for her generosity. I will be back to Spring Hill Suites. We were in town for a funeral and there were 20+ people in our group and this was a GREAT experience. The customer service, location and cleanliness of this hotel was 10+ stars. Thank you, Angel and staff.

The hotel itself is really good, however, if checkout is at 11 why was housekeeping knocking on our door at 9? Not only did she come at 9 and I answered saying we were still here, she came back at 1030 knocking again. This is not ok. We have a trip planned for April to stay here again for a baseball tournament and the only reason we are keeping our reservation here is because the team is staying. This didn't just happen to us, but to other members of our baseball team. I would recommend that housekeeping not knock on doors of guests if they haven't checked out with the front desk.

This is the newest Marriott hotel in Dothan, AL. The rooms and hotel are what we expect as frequent Marriott guests. I am surprised though at the front entrance because it seems small and narrow compared to other hotels. The rooms, however, are pretty good sized. The trundle beds are a big plus especially for bigger families. The closet area is also very spacious. The reason I’m commenting though is because of the lady that greeted us at the front desk Shirita (I hope I spelled your name correctly). She was so friendly, professional, and helpful. I even saw her helping another guest find another place to check in since the hotel isn’t pet friendly. She went out of her way to find that guest a hotel that would accept pets. I definitely commend her as most people would just turn the guest away and not think anything of it. The management should definitely keep her and promote her. She’s one of the best hotel employees I’ve met in years.
