Worst massage of my life. And I've had many.

My husband and I decided to book a couple's massage during a recent vacation in Palm Springs. My massage therapist rubbed my muscles like he was trying to stretch out a pizza dough. He massaged me so fast, and rough, it was not relaxing at all. My husband said his massage was only mediocre.

Both therapists also had problems figuring out the paperwork portion of the massage. They also seem to have paperwork problems with the couple that was ahead of us as well.

All in all, we paid good money for a poor experience. I would very much suggest to the spa manager that they either hire a full-time receptionist and better qualified massage therapists or simply not operate the spa at all. The hotel where the spa is located is very nice and it would be a shame for them to lose guests because the spa sucks.

We had a horrible experience at the Spa at the Embassy Suites in La Quinta CA. When I called for an appointment I asked if they had a steam room and whirlpool and I was told they did and I could use them. I was told I had to give a credit card in advance because "they pay the therapists in advance.' That sounded sketchy to me, but I did it. When we arrived at the spa 1 hour before our appointments no one was there. I asked at the front desk and was told the hotel had nothing to do with the spa and they could not help me. We walked into the locker rooms, there were no towels or robes, and the steam rooms were turned off. The whirlpool was filthy, had bugs in it and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. I turned the steam rooms on, and they took 15 minutes to start producing steam. We wandered around and found someone who worked at the beauty salon. She very kindly got us towels and robes. My wife was very uncomfortable as no one was at the spa desk and anyone could just walk right in (as we did). In the time we had before our massage appointments the steam rooms never reached their proper temperature. At the time for our massages the therapists showed up. One of them spoke no English at all. We told them about our experience and the one who did speak English said they had nothing to do with that, they are independent contractors and just show up when someone schedules a massage. If I had not already paid we would have left. But since I had we went ahead and had the massages, which were good.

I called the spa the next day and the person I got said she was only a booking agent and could not help me. I asked for contact into for the manager of the spa and she said she would have him call me. No one ever called. I called again the next day and was told the same. Again, I did not get a call.

It seems to be impossible to speak with anyone in management there. I would never go back.

While enjoying a relaxing weekend in the Palm Springs area, my fiancé and I booked massages at Spa Hibiscus. The massage was average but it is the unprofessional exchange of the masseuse that was very off putting. We will not visit this spa in the future. My fiancé masseuse started his massage off by telling him that her and my masseuse were discussing how beautiful his eyes were during our check in, the check in where I could barely get them to pay attention and explain what paperwork I needed to complete to begin my massage. During his massage she decides to discuss her personal life ie: her divorce, her current romantic situation and her children. Meanwhile my fiancé instead of having the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing massage is so uncomfortable that he keeps reiterating how great our relationship is in a hope so will stop low key hitting on him. Literally the most unprofessional, uncomfortable and disrespectful experience. We paid top $ for a service, not to be someone’s therapist or to have someone put their feelers out there for their next potential baby daddy.

Had a great massage. June was awesome in identifying the spots that had tension and spent focused effort in relieving the stress in my back and shoulders. I feel very relaxed.
