A large tourist store containing a wide variety of selectable souvenirs ranging from cloths, hats, trinkets, jewelry, snacks, knives, bottles, etc. Proces are fair. Located along the pier where a cruise ship is docked. It's a recommended place if you're looking for something to take back home. A true one stop shop.

This place should be 5 stars based on their large selection and reasonable prices. However, I purchased one of those clear resin figurines with whales in it from them and they have signs that say free shipping. I asked about it, the guy confirmed that they did indeed offer free shipping and I was happy to go that route instead of adding extra stuff to my luggage since I had to fly home after the cruise. Well, when the package finally came I noticed that they did not send the box and paperwork that came with the figurine, it was literally just the figurine in its velvet bag.

So I called and at first the guy I spoke with tried to tell me they don't come in boxes, they only come in the bag. I told him I was certain the cashier pulled it out of the box right in front of me in the store to show me and verify it wasn't chipped or anything. Then he backtracked and said oh well they DO come in boxes and with paperwork but when they offer free shipping they don't include that stuff because it would need a bigger shipping box so to save money they only send the contents of the box and that the cashier should have explained this to me. I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. First of all, the box does not make that much of a difference in the size, there was plenty of room in the shipping box it came in. And second of all, that absolutely should have been explained to me before I spent several hundred dollars on this piece of art and agreed to use their free shipping even if that was the case. I could then have decided to either take it myself and fit it in my luggage or pay extra for whatever the extra shipping would cost because OF COURSE I WANT THE BOX AND PAPERWORK. I was stunned, to say the least.

They didn't offer to rectify the mistake at all, didn't offer to ship the box and paperwork if I paid, didn't offer to ship it on their dime, didn't even apologize for the mixup. Nothing. What terrible customer service. Beware

An incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Great inventory and prices. I especially want to thank the kind and patient lady and gentleman who helped me in the purchase of a B. Merry knife. I regret not getting your names. You helped make this once in a lifetime journey to Alaska an epic memory and I shall cherish this knife and your kindness for a lifetime.

Absolutely loved visiting Sockeye Sam's in Ketchikan! The selection of gifts and local treasures is fantastic, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone in town.

I took a cruise to Alaska two weeks ago and one of the ports we stopped in was Ketchikan. I went to Sockeye Sam's to purchase some sweat jackets for my family. One size I needed was a 3XL but I thought there was one on the rack when I grabbed the others but I missed getting it. When I got home, I tried calling several times, but no one answers the phone. I left a voicemail message, and no one has called me back. I also sent an email to them on 7/26, but no one has responded. While the jackets are great and I'm happy I purchased them, I am very disappointed in the poor level of professional communication provided by the management in this store. I would love to purchase that 3XL jacket, and I am willing to pay to have it shipped. I have one son that unfortunately won't be able to get a matching jacket because they are unable/unwilling to email me back. I am in Arizona, and won't be able to get all the way back to Ketchikan. This is soooo disappointing!!
