Great location! Even better hosts!! Coordination with check-in was simple, direct and personal. Was greeted at the door upon arrival and shown the room with explanation of accommodation features such as guest lounge. Hosts had genuine interest in our comfort and I would recommend to anyone! This place has a great variety of secure, attractive rooms to accommodate any size group/family. Clean, safe neighborhood nearby to restaurants, shopping and the Alaska Railroad!

I stayed in the historic downstairs bungalow. One of the best experiences with a Airbnb/B&B I have had. The location is perfect to walk to restaurants and general sightseeing. Beds are comfy and cozy. It was a great home away from home while in Anchorage for work for 2 weeks. Owners were very nice and helpful.

The property is beautiful. The story of history is interesting. The neighborhood is decent. The place is very clean. Check in and out is very smooth. Locally owned and operated. There are some things, however, to be aware of Before you book:

Parking is very limited (Two spaces for the entire hotel) Please make sure you contact the host if you need parking. We were fortunate and got a space.

There are no elevators. Every room requires you walk your luggage up at least half a flight of concrete stairs. The beds are extremely soft. There is no control in the rooms. Temperature is set at 70° for the entire building and upper floors are warmer. Despite It being less than 50° overnight in September and running a fan both to bring new air in and exhaust existing air from the room. We were unable to budge the temperature lower than 69° after Closing all three vents in the ceiling (I’m tall). The bathroom for our particular room is private, but not attached to the room. The towels are soft and fluffy. They provided bathrobes, which is really nice but do not fit plus sized ladies. I was able to use a towel to make up the substantial gap in the middle. They provide some premium shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The arrangement of the fixture in the bathroom means it is about 4 inches taller than average kitchen sink height. Shorter than 5 foot six will have difficulty using the bathroom sink. The bathroom is fairly spacious. The floors are concrete and have radiant heat. There are many rugs. The floors are not cold. The bedding is very soft as are the pillows, and there is a thick fluffy comforter Should you manage to get cold. The decor is gorgeous and the room has beautiful nearly floor to ceiling windows on two sides. Even with the gorgeous floor to ceiling velvet drapes it’s really difficult to get all the light blocked. Additionally, there’s a good bit of light from around the door from the hallway. You’re used to sleeping in total darkness, This might be a problem. There’s a good bit of nightlife in the area. We were awakened multiple times with people smoking marijuana under our window at the street below. Additionally, we were woken up three more times by trains with whistles, running near the building after midnight. Even with the windows hastily closed Due to people smoking On the street outside, The train whistle was still loud enough to wake us up. Perhaps if you’re from the city or used to more noise, this would not be a problem. Unfortunately, even with two fans running, it still woke us up. It’s obvious that the owners have tried to do all they can to mitigate the constraints of the property and the location. I give the place five stars as it is super posh super nice super clean and the people who own it very nice. I think they mentioned there is an area with coffee and snacks downstairs for people who are staying that is open 24 hours a day.

We loved staying here! It's a great location in Anchorage and the two sisters that own it are so friendly. Our room was lovely and clean. This place has some great perks with their lounge that offers a variety of snacks. It feels very much like an Air BNB with a special touch. It's also within walking distance of 49th state brewery which was a huge plus.

Snob Hollow is our go-to place to stay in Anchorage!! My family has stayed there multiple times for both business and vacation. It is kid friendly, and has a stocked kitchen for breakfast and incidentals. From location and comfort, to amenities and hospitality, Snob Hollow is a must-stay!

Snob Hollow Inn is pure magic, and the family that owns and operates the inn are just as incredible.
My son and I had the great fortune to be upgraded to the penthouse during our stay, and I still am in awe of all the amenities provided, including a washer and dryer in the unit, stainless steel kitchen, luxury living and dining spaces (including floor to ceiling windows with views looking out over the water and mountains), two big screen tvs, and the most comfortable beds a traveler could hope for.
Holly and Mandy made sure we had everything we needed during our stay and provided great recommendations for things for my preschooler and I to do while in the area.
The location can’t be beat and the inside of the hotel is fresh and modern. I would recommend Snob Hallow Inn to anyone who comes to Anchorage- and if you have the means, I highly recommend the penthouse.

The room was very nice and clean. The staff were friendly and even carried our bags up the stairs to the room. How cool is that? There were snacks in a downstairs sitting area. There are 4 or 5 nice restaurants within short walking distance. And the train station is a 5 minute walk down the hill, which is convenient if you are catching the train at 6:45am.

We stayed there on 6/4/2024. We had made the reservation after looking for a hotel near the train station. The reviews were great, even though the online photo looked like a very basic building that one might see in an industrial park. When we arrived, we had a wonderful greeting from Holly, who even helped with our luggage and provided restaurant recommendations! We found the room to be wonderful, with lots of space and a great bathroom. In the morning, we were offered some breakfast snacks to take with us as we caught an early train to Seward, AK.
Our stay there was delightful and both Mandy and Holly were very helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond when they sent a lost item that was left behind. I very strongly recommend Snob Hollow. You will be very pleased!
