New owners are cheaper than the likes of my home state of Mississippi.

Never thought I’d make a review like this for what was ONCE my favorite resort. I’ve been coming to this resort every year for nine years, and every time I’ve been here (up until this year) it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. However, recently there are new owners of this hotel who obviously have no interest in keeping this jewel a destination for many visitors. The spa itself has degraded the most, the hot tub outside has not worked for two years but I decided to be patient about it last year because I understand things happen. This year there is a hose running lukewarm water into the pool that they call a ā€œhot tub.ā€ I’ve had to request so many essential items that should already be in my room, such as robes, a do-not-disturb sign, water, and soap bottles that are not 4/5’s empty. If you plan on visiting the spa during the hours of 9a-9p (regular open times) it’s kind of hit or miss whether or not all the spa equipment will be unavailable, off, or closed off. I’ve had to request the front desk to send somebody to the men’s spa twice to just turn all the lights on, because why should I have to do it when I’m spending basically $900 a night to stay here for 7 days? The service from the hotel workers has been okay, although I think I can ask for some silverware for my room without getting scoffed at by the bartender. Didn’t even get real silverware either, I got some biodegradable fork that bent before I even opened the PLASTIC THAT IT CAME IN. The ice machines won’t work in some areas of the hotel, so if you want to have a drink in your own room you’ll have to venture to another floor before you can do so. Half the power outlets in my room are not functioning whatsoever so I have to charge my phone on the other side of my room. Best part of this hotel so far has been the view outside the window of the mountain, but even the windows are just plain nasty.

And if you’ve heard that they’re renovating, don’t fall for that. It’s the annual joke around here apparently, even the manager at the desk plainly said she had no idea if it would happen or when it would happen because they said the same thing last year.

There are people here that have far too much money, and I’m sure they don’t care about the state of this hotel. But this has been my resting spot of choice for nearly a decade, and to see it massacred in such a way is just sad, just like the laundromat downstairs.

Ski-in resort with a lovely pool and comfortable rooms. Our family couldn’t be more grateful for the help from David (the manager) and Raquel (front desk staff member) upon our arrival. We are so thankful for their efforts to accommodate us and make our stay more pleasant. The bar was great, and the ski rental staff were phenomenal too!

Location is great, ski shop and staff are excellent, housekeeping did a great job. …. However, the hotel itself is lacking in all other areas. The breakfast buffet is terrible, the entire main floor lobby, bar area etc needs to be completely gutted and redone. Very dated and dark and kind of depressing, Terrible use of space. They only offer like 4 very basic things on the menu, French fries is one of them. The lobby service was non existent , there was no one to help with luggage, front desk staff was not very good, seemed put out of you asked a question, seems like management is missing completely.
The hallways are very dark , rooms , pool etc are all VERY dated and odd and need to be remodeled. We would not return unless hotel had been updated.

We stay here every year and have since 2020 - sometimes twice a year during good snow. However, regretfully this may be our last stay here. The pool and gym are amazing, the rooms are pretty great and the location is great BUT if you cannot have hot water and even take a slightly warm shower at the beginning or end of a long ski day, NONE of the great amenities matter. I’ve requested to change rooms so we’ll see what happens but get the hot water situation fixed YESTERDAY. We’re here for an 8-day stay and this is extremely disappointing.

I would like to actually leave a 3.5 star review, but unable to do so unfortunately ....||First of all, the hotel management, front desk crew, and reservations associates were all top notch, and helped me with my stay, and even helped me fix a mistake that I made that could have cost me a lot of money. They were all 5 stars or better!!||The hotel / spa itself is ideal for ski-in / ski-out, and the convenience of the location gives it a high mark also, and for that alone, I would rate it very highly!||However, a few other things ding the hotel. It is an older establishment, and while they have updated it, things like the "antique elevator" (ie impossible to get a luggage cart into), loud doors, and lack of or minimal sound deadening, very small rooms take away from what many newer establishments can offer. Waking up to someone else's crying baby at 3.30 in the morning takes away from the comfort of the (small) room. Room service was also not up to expectations, with dirty towels taken, but not the same number of clean towels returned, and soaps not refilled.||The on site ski / boot valet is extremely convenient along with the complementary self parking. And... even better, an oh, so nice extra at the ski shop, the boot driers are such a great benefit!! We did enjoy that.||We did not spend any time at the bar there in the main level, but did do one trip to the morning buffet. This breakfast which was not included in the stay was very expensive for a barely average quality self-seve buffet. A 20% tip was also automatically included in the charge for the meal. (For a self serve buffet where the only real "service" was a one time fill of a coffee and a soft drink, no refills were offered)||So, while we understand paying for the convenience of the hotel, we don't feel it was the best value for our vacation dollars, and while again, the front desk, and management were excellent, the other areas take away from what could really be an excellent mountain side hotel.

If you stay at this hotel the only cool thing is the ski valet with awesome staff and location. They put us in a room next to the ice machine, elevator, some loud machinery and parking lot. We got no sleep at all from how ridiculously loud it was. Even my kids could not sleep. When asked for a room change they gave us a dark room with a view of a wall! We simply laughed trying to not let it affect our holiday. Not at all worth the high price not at all. Actually quite insulting to ask for such a high rate for the quality of the dated rooms and noise level. Worst experience. So bad that we booked another hotel and left. They refuse to refund us so be aware of a 21 day cancellation policy. I feel totally taken advantage of. The new hotel is way better and they greeted us with a free upgrade and fantastic customer service so know that there is way better hotels in the area. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

We love snake river. Huge rooms, best location, fun pool. And the most special part is if you are lucky enough to have Annie do your housekeeping. Her spirit and smile will warm your day when you walk out your door. My new personal mantra is to be more like Annie.

Great Location. Service was a hit or miss, some good people there and some that should not be working in hospitality (felt like i was a bother to them)

The biggest issue i had was how run down the hotel was. Probably was amazing 10-15 years ago but didn't seem to be updated in many years. To the point where things felt dirty, many things broken, and old etc. Seems like their management just let the hotel go years ago and isn't making the proper investments to upkeep it. I hope that changes as the hotel has the bones to be great given attention to detail and proper upkeep investments.
