We tried the grilled cheese with tomato soup. One with bbq brisket, the other with 2 types of cheese.

Good food, but nothing that hits the ball out the park.

Coffee was good too. Standard coffee house, less craft coffee.

Staff experience was average.

For 2 people, 2 sandwiches, 1 soup, and 2 coffees, we spent $45

Quaint coffee shop serving up retro vibes with a cheesy twist.

Found out about Shift Coffee House while killing some time. Its unassuming entrance almost feels like a hidden hobbit hole, as you enter into the familiar world of a modern coffee shop.

The grilled cheese is certainly the best I’d had. I ordered the Firehouse 20 and the smoked brisket was tenderly and flavorful with the Cajun seasoning. Crispy fried cheese edges provide a delectable crunch to complement the gooey cheese.

My London fog was perfectly warm and sweet, providing a refreshing and energizing beverage for my lunch.

Our coffee was delicious! Strong without being bitter. Very nice texture and body. Temperature was perfect for drinking and the foam was well done and attractive. Chocolate muffin was delicious too. The music was at a level that allowed conversation and the tables and chairs were clean. Thank you for a wonderful visit and experienced, helpful baristas.

Great place to eat! It's not just a coffee shop with grilled cheese. Customer service was fantastic. Nice friendly atmosphere with delicious food and great coffee.

Every time I come back I enjoy myself. The smells the food the coffee just an all around pleasant experience. And decent prices too!

We ordered the BLVD Bayou and the Bay Area grilled cheeses with a cold brew and americano - Delicious! I wish I read the menu more closely, I would have added veg to balance out the cheese, but still enjoyed everything.

I read a sign outside saying “best grilled cheese in Sacramento” and they are NOT wrong. I have brought so many friends and family here just because I love their food so much!! The smokin pig was my favorite cause of the apple slices but I don’t think they have it in the menu anymore so now I go for the kitchen sink or hot as hell. You can also customize by switching the bread or adding jams. They are so sweet and helpful! I love trying their seasonal drinks, most of the time it’s too sweet for my liking ( I don’t like sweet) but still very fun to try. My favorite drink was actually the golden girl white tea with rose petals. If you’re hungry, you have to try the home made tomato soup with your grilled cheese!! So so good 🤤 lastly, it’s such a cute spot in a beautiful area. They have games you can play or just relax and enjoy the vibe. (Waiting and praying on the day the finally open their beautiful outdoor garden area)
