Very disappointing. We arrived at 2:50pm on a Wednesday only to discover the place completely fenced off and no one around. Clearly, they are closed, but we could find no hours of operation anywhere (obline or in person). We expected the buildings themselves might be closed, but weren't prepared for not even being able to walk around and enjoy them from the outside. This place looks to have potential but is clearly struggling with a lack of volunteers and funding judging by the condition of what we could see. (Missing boards, roofs covered in growth, weeds, lack of signage, etc.) It's a shame. I hope they find the support they need to make this place a better/more accessible community resource. Preserving historical structures like these and the history that goes with them is so important.

If you're looking for a similar experience but with good maintenance and something open to viewing even when no volunteers are around, try driving an hour north to Fresno Flats in Oakhurst. They have wonderful signage and even have an audio tour you can enjoy for free.

Great little place. Had a huge cub scout activity here for a whole week. Parking was on the street. Easy to find. Only issue was deep gopher holes. A few kids running around stepped in them. Otherwise, clean restrooms and nice shade trees.

This is a nice place.. The only problem is that they need to cover all those gopher holes ... Just don’t wear wedges😱... I’m surprised no one has broken or fractured there foot... The ground keeper needs to get on the ball and fill all those holes ...
