The lodge is adorable! Super comfy bed and very clean room. Check in and out is very simple. It is very quiet at night. My favorite part was watching The birds right outside our room and at the gift shop just steps away. The wild turkeys are walking around.

This is a lovely place for a getaway. The rooms are rustic but clean and spacious. The kitchen was well-stocked and had a mini fridge/freezer toaster, microwave, coffee machine, and induction burner. There is no food in the canyon so you have to bring your own, but the gift shop has a coffee shop which is a nice touch. Easy access to some beautiful hikes or plenty of seating to sit and watch the many birds at the many feeders. Steve and his family clearly care a lot about this property and take good care of it and the local wildlife.

We stayed in a cabin, it was very comfortable and we loved the big windows to watch the wildlife. Cabin 1 has this cute back deck that was perfect for lunch. Kitchenette had a keurig, toaster, microwave, 2 burners and a dorm size fridge with tiny freezer. I was surprised the TV had access to Netflix etc. The lodge is well situated, we walked to the Nature Trail and Bog Springs. We drove to the trail head for the Super Trail and Mine Trail. We saw more bird species at the feeders, but done unique ones at on the trail like bushtit. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful place. Mini kitchens are well stocked with all necessities including pots, silverware plates, even wine glasses. The beds were SUPER comfortable. The place is great for a cabin getaway. We only stayed one night and it was not enough! Amazing bird feeding area with multiple species all day. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to.

Steve was very warm and engaged when we visited the gift shop. The birdfeeder area was lively with activity. We had iced coffees and they were great! We came from DFW on a sisters getaway after reading about the different hummingbird species you can spot at these feeders. The trails of Madera Canyon are beautiful, but we didn’t see many birds in late-May with drought conditions. We tried to find the bear (spotted just a few minutes before on a trail) without luck.

My cabin at Santa Rita Lodge was roomy, and sparkling clean. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchenette had everything needed for my stay. But the real star of my visit was the staff. So friendly and helpful. The gift shop had a delicious coffee shop! If you’re a birder this is the place for you. There are bird feeders hung everywhere with benches and chairs scattered all around for comfortable viewing. In only a few minutes I saw Goulds Turkeys, Hepatic Tanagers, Bridled Titmouse, Arizona and Acorn Woodpeckers, Lesser Goldfinch, Yellow Eyed Juncos, Bewick Wren, Magnificent Hummingbirds and more! Up to 250 species of birds live in the canyon including Elegant Trogan. If you love to hike this is this place for you.

I had always thought about staying here and was glad I chose it this time! We could enjoy the feeding stations more hours and did not have to drive up from Green Valley. We had everything we needed in our apartment and were very comfortable. Because we were in the canyon it was easy to drive out after dark to listen for owls.

I have stayed here in the past going back as far as 35 yrs. This is the first time I have ever found the feeders not to be filled regularly. People stay here mostly for viewing hummingbirds. It is 11am and no hummingbird feeders are filled and the seed feeders, we are told, are only filled every other day
