The Sandwich Fair is a county fair that's been operating since 1888. It is mostly an agricultural exhibition, but there is much much more. It has a carnival area with many rides that you can pay for individually or with a wristband. This also has all the usual carnival games too. If crowds aren't your thing, it would be best to attend during the day, nights are very busy.

Food at the fair is varied and abundant. The variety is state fair level, and maybe better than some state's fair. Anything from fast food to sit down dining and all abbreviations. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, et al.

Parking can be distant if you go at a prime time, which seems to be always. I didn't notice if they had shuttle service or not. It would have been nice to find if they did have it, because after all the walking and carrying some great pound cake and other stuff, the looong walk back to the car seemed to take forever. I needed a break before I could drive

Delightful family event held in the quaint town of Sandwich, Illinois.
It is the second oldest and largest fair in the state.
Lots of rides, carnival games, vendors, food galore.
On display were agricultural, livestock, quilt & sewing, antique car show, and antique farm equipment.
They even had an old Medicine Show!
Live entertainment daily, tractor pulls, etc.
A very enjoyable day.

I went in the past but I thought it was going to be huge. It was definitely not as big as I had thought. If you come later in the afternoon or evening, you’ll be parking far from the entrance. That’s if you go on a Fri or Saturday. They had different kinds of animals to look at. Food is your typical fair food. I didn’t want to eat fried food all the time, so it was nice to see some pierogis in the mix. They do have some shows going on, you’ll have to look at the schedule to see if anything interests you. We probably only spent a couple hours here at the max.

To say The Sandwich Fair is the best county fair in Illinois (it's Dekalb's) is an understatement! I have been attending since a kid and now bring my husband, who had never gone before me. As a fair worker said this year, "There is no going back!"

There is so much to do, so much to see, and so much to eat for all ages! Plenty of delicious food options, located throughout the fair grounds. Lots of new adventurous food items this year alone.

The largest carnival around. Plenty of vendors to shop from. Plus all the exhibits to browse through — and not just farm animals, but photography, crafts, antiques, baking, vegetables, etc.

Taking your turn at being at exhibitor is always a fun experience, too. There's certainly a category for something you are in to!

We drove up from Ottawa with family. Spent the afternoon walking around and seeing the tractors. We also saw other friends. Lunch at the pork chop tent. Unfortunately we found no cotton candy 😢 A great fair.

Great fair for families ! Its humongous, so great ready for a good walk. Wear comfortable shoes ! Food and drinks are available at every corner. Good variety of vendors as well. Great rides for the kids and adults. Tons of games available. It's a fun place to visit at the near end of summer.

Everyone should go at least once! It's the full 'county fair experience- animals, 4h, music, rides, fair food, tractors, lots of activities for the whole family. It's huge, so it could take more than a day to do it all.
