I can't recommend Salon Ludic enough, especially if you're looking for a top-tier experience. Shelly is absolutely amazing! Not only is she an incredibly talented stylist, but she also gives the best shampoos and scalp massages I’ve ever had. It’s such a relaxing treat every time I visit. My twin daughters are equally obsessed with her—she has a magical touch when it comes to making them feel special and comfortable, and they love every moment spent in her care. Last week was my first time at Salon Ludic and I had such a great experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt very taken care of. My hair wash/scalp massage was so relaxing and really added to my experience. I saw Shelley for my cut and felt like she really heard what I was wanting with my hair and helped me get that. I hadn’t expected to get help with how to do my curls in the process, but I came away not only feeling like I knew how to take care of my curls, but also with a haircut that looked good both curly or straightened. I would strongly recommend Shelley for the sometimes curly girl!

I want to start with positives. I have been in for several different services. The stylists are always very welcoming and helpful. This past time I went in with very little idea of what I was wanting. I needed a big chop because I started with very long hair. I brought two reference photos (of myself at different hair lengths) and we discussed my options. My stylist was very sweet and patient. She did several different things to help me figure out what we were going to do for the day.

Now for the negative… I take responsibility for not being as forward as I should have this past time. However, I mentioned several times that I did not want layers. My reference photos did not have layers. I said blunt bob several times. She asked if thinning the back would be ok and I said yes. The thinning technique was different from past experiences I have had at other salons.I did question/stop her a few times because I was worried where it was heading. She insured that it wouldn’t be super noticeable and it was all going to blend. When it was all said and done my whole head was a sea of layers. I have choppy layers right in the front of my face... I did an express cut so I was told to go home and wash it and it would be better. I did that, dried, and straightened my hair and hated it. I worked up the courage to call and say I didn’t like it and they were very nice and accommodating on bringing me back in a few days later to look and fix it for free.
When I went back in, we discussed what could be done and my stylist tried to address the areas I was having issue with. I still wasn’t that happy with the end result after the 2nd time but ended up leaving anyway because I am very non-confrontational. I did not ask for a refund but I probably should have.
I didn’t want layers because my hair is wavy. I didn’t want to have to straighten it everyday. I’ve tried air drying it as suggested by the stylist and it looks crazy with the waves and the layers if I leave it natural. It’s only been two-ish weeks and it’s still making me upset trying to style it everyday. Especially the front near my face. Again, the stylist was very nice and I enjoyed chatting during the appointment. I appreciate that the salon did their best to make it right. I enjoy the salon as a whole. I am just very disappointed in my last cut. I’m conflicted on if I want to continue coming back because sometimes things like this just happen. However, at the end of the day- I have to live with being frustrated with it until it grows out.
