My husband and I enjoyed a very comfortable night in a spotless cabin with a queen-size bed, a kitchenette, a full bathroom, and a loft with a twin-size bed. We got in late and had everything we needed and explained in an email or on the handout in the room. The bathroom had lots of shelf space and linens, there was ample room around the kitchenette/dining area and multiple chairs. I appreciated the space heater in addition to the many blankets available. I did not read the reservation instructions carefully enough and did not realize that they were asking for payment in cash or check to be left upon leaving (I thought the credit card I has used to reserve the room would be charged). The owner was lovely when I went back within two hours and paid her. We will definitely consider this comfortable and convenient cabin again when we next stay in Seward! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay in these cabins. We liked the rustic decor, and they’re located in a quiet area not far from town. Very nice friendly owner who lives onsite as well. The small building on site with shared laundry facilities has DVDs you can borrow at no cost, as well as plates, cups, napkins, bug spray and just about anything else you may have forgotten. This was the second time we stayed here (the first was in 2003), and we’ll stay here again if we’re ever back in the area!

Perfect location just outside of Seward, 5 minute drive. Great set up, everything we needed, comfortable, great water pressure in the shower, glacier water table makes for terrific drinking water. The cabin beds were very comfortable and the place was spotless. Came complete with a super friendly, extremely well trained dog, Ruger. Jim, the owner, came by each day to check on us, offering guidance/recommendations on anything we had questions about. The kitchenette had a nice table, chairs, microwave, coffee pot with coffee and tea supplied, kitchen towel and wash cloth, knife, cutting board, large bowl, nice size mini fridge (about 3 feet tall) with a small freezer. On the deck there is a Weber grill, but with the burn ban we couldn’t use it. We could use my son’s small camp stove (something you could turn off as soon as you were done cooking to avoid more forest fires). The bathroom had towels, washcloths, shampoo/body wash, hand soap and toilet paper. The view from the window is beautiful too. We were extremely happy we stayed here and would highly recommend it.

We were definitely lucky! The cabin is the most beautiful we could hope to find. The wooden structure is tastefully furnished and well distributed in the furniture equipped with refrigerator, microwave, dining table, television, armchairs and two king size beds, one in a wonderful loft and a comfortable bathroom with all comforts. Outside a lovely terrace with barbecue.
And anyway what left us amazed is the beautiful window at the end of the room that like a painting gives a glimpse of a primordial forest of a beauty that enchants ....
Luckily we stayed here three nights but wished we couldn't leave. It is a memory that I will always keep with nostalgia in my heart.

My dad and I stayed in Cabin #4 for one night. It was supposed to be two nights, but the front end of our plans got messed up by weather. After seeing my name on the chalk board outside the door (great personal touch!!) and opening the door to this beautifully appointed little cabin, I wished we could have had more time there! Don't delay, book these cabins. Minutes from Seward, SUPER quiet wooded setting, and everything inside our cabin was perfect. Comfortable beds, spotless bathroom, everything you need. LOVED IT!

Our small family stayed at the Retreat on Bear Creek on July 25, 26, and 27, 2017, as part of a 10-day Alaskan adventure. Though we were quite happy with all our lodging choices, the Retreat was most certainly the best of our trip. After a long day trip from Tok, AK, we really needed something special to finish off our day. The Retreat could not have been more perfect. We arrived late in the day, very tired. And what did we see? A cuter than cute log cabin, tucked amongst tall trees; a chalkboard welcome sign by the door, with our names on it (very nice touch); an immaculate and cozy interior; everything we could want for amenities; a hot tub that was all ours (no sharing with strangers, like one is forced to do at motels); a gurgling brook (Bear Creek) nearby; and as much peace and quiet as anyone could want. We used the Retreat as home base while we took a boat cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park (the 7.5 hour Major Marine Cruise was amazing), ziplined with Stoney Creek Canopy Tours, checked out Exit Glacier, and walked around Seward. We are so thankful to have found the Retreat -- sleep came easily, and we were well rested each day. How can you put a value on relaxing in a clean hot tub in the dark, with a little salmon stream bubbling cheerfully a stone's throw away? The owners had added some nice touches to the cabin, but most importantly it was spotlessly clean. We were a little confused in the booking ... apparently there are the Bear Creek Cabins, not too far away, but unrelated. We have no experience with them, but the Retreat at Bear Creek (which is associated with Salmon Creek Cabins) was an awesome experience. Just be certain that you are booking the lodging that you think you are.

I stayed in Cabin 4 for four nights. What a beautiful place to call home for my visit to Seward! The cabin is like a small apartment for two people; it could definitely fit 3 comfortably. The refrigerator and microwave make it easy to buy food from the Safeway supermarket down the road to feed yourself on the cheap as a visitor for a few days (no stove or oven though). The bathroom is very nice, though the cabin runs off a very small electric hot water heater, so two people taking back-to-back showers will leave you out of hot water quickly. The whole place is also very quiet. I highly recommend staying here!

One of the best cabins we have stayed at - clean, cozy and convenient:||Clean - Super clean cabin with nice bathrooms (towels/body wash provided). ||Cozy - Sometimes its harder to find cabins just for a couple vs. easier to find one for a family. But this was perfect for a couple or a family with 1-2 kids.||Convenient - All our activities in Seward were very close of a drive from these cabins:||Waterfront (cruises leave from here) - 7 min||Exit Glacier - 20 min||||The loft up is such a cute addition to these cabins - might not be present in all. This was our BEST stay in Alaska.
