I ordered dinner from Sakura Chaya in Clovis on my way home. When I picked up the order, I asked the cashier if there was ugnagi sauce in the bag or if I had to order one separately. She advised that there is one in the bag. I went home, and I was shocked to find no sauce in the container. I ate 2 pieces but it didn't enjoy it. I called the restaurant and explained to them what had happened. I advised that I was discarding the sushi roll and asked if they could remedy the situation for me. The manager Liana shared that it should have been in the bag and that the sushi chef made an error. She shared she could put me down for a free sauce for my next visit but couldn't refund the roll. So I waisted my time, money, and appetite.

Enjoyed a nice lunch and sat in a spacious booth. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the Mallory roll and never had it prepared this beautifully before. It was fresh and delicious. Bacon fried rice was just as good at traditional dinning as it is at the grill. Large portions all around. This place is consistent with their quality and service. Never a bad meal.

Not sure about the teppanyaki side, but the sushi side isn’t that great. The rainbow roll had old looking avocado, the tempura shrimp inside was not crunchy, and it did not taste fresh. You know that feeling when you bite into a fried item and it’s old so you dont have that give when you bite it? The california roll was decent, the yo mama roll was overwhelmingly salty, less sauce would be okay. And side note the side order of rice is a huge serving. The service was very good though, very nice and attentive.

We came in with a large party of 13 at 7:30 PM, expecting a fun and smooth experience, but it was anything but that. It took over an hour for the chef to even come out to start cooking (8:47 PM to be exact). To make matters worse, two chefs went to a table that arrived after us and started cooking for them first!

We asked management what was going on, and it took them an unacceptable 30 minutes to finally address the situation. By that time, the experience was already ruined. The lack of organization and customer service was appalling. I would not recommend this place if you value your time or expect even basic courtesy.

This place has both sit down dining and teppenyaki, obviously the latter having massive demand with waits over an hour long. Even sitting and waiting for a booth was also lengthy as well, around 45 mins when promised 15 mins. Mainly due to clean up or tables being opened, the hostess was vague on that... It all changed once we sat down...

I cant stress how well this server was tonight! She was very chatty and also loved and made recommendations! The craziest part was when I was deciding between vanilla or rainbow servant and she brought out both!!

We ordered a special bento box filled with tempura and beef and siu mai and potato salad! Basically a sample of the entire menu as a little bento box!!!

I ordered a sukiyaki hot plate with beef on it, it had a very tangy mushroom sauce in it topped with sesame seeds and cilantro. Beef tasted very very flat though even with all of that.

The roasted salmon and the California rolls were also nothing home to write about and at $14+ they better have meant something and failed... The salad was also questionable too with the sauce choice but the veggies were fresh. At least the miso soup was good!

But with the price paid there was a lot of food that we couldn't finish and we didnt mind taking them out! I don't remember ordering having that many boxes in a while! And we were pretty hungry when we came in!

I would like to come back here. Maybe one day to try out the teppanyaki, since i here that is the main attraction here! But the server is on the restaurant side is still really really good! I'm not sure it's the server's in the teppanyaki side is the same...

The whole family of 7 went to Sakura Chaya Clovis to celebrate the 10th birthday of our grandson . This was his choice as he loves Teppanyaki.
The service was excellent and our cook was amazing and very entertaining. The food was delicious! The menu has so many options to choose from its hard to make a choice.

Upon arrival, we were ignored by the host for a good 5 mins. We had to ask BELLA if we seat ourselves. She then continued to count her money. Then answered our question after she was done counting. She then asked if we were checking in? Obviously.. she ruined the whole experience here for us.

First time visiting this restaurant. To star with, We arrived at 1:00 PM party of 12 reservation as a guest. The hostess told us we have to wait for the rest of our party, totally understandable but then she said "Please contact all your party friends, "not in the nicest attitude" your cut-out time is until 1:40 pm for everyone to arrived." I told her "I am sorry but I am just a guest " She insisted for us to contact everyone else in our party. Definitely feels like Debbie Downer welcoming.
The waiter was really nice and quick service. We have cupcakes and asked us, if We would like to be store in the fridge while we eat. Which we appreciated it.
The chef was not experienced, couple tricks here and there but he did really well, he was funny and his food was delicious and well cook. I told the waiter that we have a birthday in our party and he said "I will get you an ice cream" my problem was that an hour before the staff sang happy birthday for someone else while our birthday girl just got place a n ice cream in front of her. Nice but kinda sad. My advice is "If you are not going to do it for everyone, better not do it at all." I have mix feelings about this place. Overall the place is beautiful, spacious and very clean.
