Lifetime Platinum with Marriott; stayed two nights early February 2024. Assigned to a recently renovated room on 8th floor. With all things considered (hotel renovation, off-season, etc.) my stay was satisfactory, grading all of the usual factors of hospitality. I could not provide a 5 * rating because there was nothing above and beyond that I could cite to justify. Staff was pleasant and professional.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for years and it’s looking better than ever as the renovation nears completion. The room was modern, fresh, and spacious. Wish I could have the well-designed bathroom duplicated for my own house - it was perfection. Really happy to see the redesign take shape. Great location, easy parking, and walking distance to Brookfields if you wish to dine off campus. Now if only the rates don’t double!

My experience was very unique and extremely disappointing. I wish I knew there was going to be extensive renovation occurring during my stay. Upon checking in I found out water may not be available from midnight to 3 am. Then I found out around 9 pm that the heat may be affected by their work. The staff did the best they could to make the stay more pleasant. So this negative is not about the staff. They were extremely pleasant, helpful, and friendly. In actuality they should not have put people on that floor. The water was cloudy as can. I choose to use bottled water to brush my teeth. There was no access to a gift shop as that was unavailable for renovation. It was quite annoying.

The positive is the starbucks in the hotel lobby was a nice plus. The Italian restaurant on site was average. They had good pizza, good local beer, but anything else was just average and not worth the price. The service was good, very attentive. Just the food was not worth it. Expect to spend around $35 a person, both food and drink.

All in all I wouldn't stay until the renovation is complete.

Stayed one night in one of their renovated rooms. One cup had mold with liquid in a cup in the bath room, hair on the bed sheets, and a worker walked in on my son changing. Will never stay here again. Would not recommend. Management did nothing. Took pictures and showed management. Nothing could really be done at this point.

I was dissatisfied with the customer service provided by the staff, especially the manager Sharae Turner. Furthermore, the safety of the parking lot is a concern; they should not be charging a fee without proper security. I will not be staying here in the future and have cut my stay short by 5 days.

Wonderful staff,exceptional service in the restaurant. My first night my neighbors were noisy and their kids were banging on the walls.
Noisy vehicle traffic heard throughout the night. My brother and wife had to change rooms the first night. The room was disheveled and there was water damage on the ceiling and walls

Again,I was impressed with the staff.
Our dinners and breakfasts in the restaurant were wonderful,except the first night.
I ordered brined roast chicken and every bite was permeated with brine. Terrible taste.

This was, by far, my worst hotel experience. I am a constant traveler due to my profession. Upon arrival, my hallway was flooded and they had fans to dry the area. It smelled of mildew and spoiled milk. I asked to be relocated to a different floor. They stated that " we are fully booked". I asked for a refund so I could relocate to a different hotel. They stated " we have a no refund policy after check in".

They offer no complimentary coffee in the lobby, but inform you that you can purchase regular coffee from Starbucks for $4 per cup.

They are constantly under construction so I could hear them starting at approximately 2am.

Half way through my stay (on Wednesday), they closed the parking lot for a "special event". We were told to park in the secondary parking lot. I have a disability walking long distances and I was 200-300 yards away, depending on the parking location I could find.

When I asked the shift manager, "Is corporate okay with you treating your guest like this?". She actually laughed at me.

As I walked away she shouted " I'm sorry about the inconvenience!".

All of the staff were very rude, but I believe it was because they are now burnt out, having to deal with upset guest.

The "Special Event", was a car show on Saturday, that started with cars showing up at 6am "very loud" that no longer would let me sleep.

Upon talking to a separate shift manager about these complaints (as well as several others), I was informed that escalation could result in removal of my status and elimination of my points.

My stay was in excess of $1100 and I will no longer use Marriot on the west coast.

In closing, No, I would not recommend Marriot on the West Coast.
