Booked a room for a work trip. Put in notes that I was traveling with my service dog. I arrived and walked into the office. Was met by the male at the front desk and as I slid him my ID he pointed at my car and asked if it was mine. I said yes. He slid my ID back to me and said “ No dogs. “ I said she was my medical alert dog. He proceeded to ask for her “service dog ID” which I informed him was not a real thing. He was rude and hostile from the moment I walked in and kept arguing with me. I got mad enough that I had to keep repeating that it was ILLEGAL to refuse my service dog and that he was asking for things that didn’t exist. Eventually a younger, nicer gentleman showed up to help. Sadly I didn’t get my room which is fine. The manager or owner or whatever he is needs to brush up on the law and what he is allowed to ask. Very terrible experience and a complaint was filed. I don’t suggest going here if you have a service animal as it was a nightmare.

Royal Inn is in a great area. You get what you pay for, however, it was still good enough for my family and I. Great place to stay if you are going to be in San Francisco for a couple days or more. There are groceries, restaurants and gas stations nearby. We felt pretty safe in this area, and there is free parking. Pretty good experience all-around.

Aug.2023- no hot water, no smoke detector, no cups, no pictures on the wall, funky smell, and terrible rude management. maybe o.k. for about $39.95 a nite, don't pay $120. Just stay away. Much better to stay 10 minutes away by the airport. This is not a professional establishment. And they insist on prepayment and then give no refunds under any circumstances. IE: Once you pay, your screwed! Run away.

I came in on a morning flight, and they were nice enough to let me check-in early. As my company just had me Uber in San Francisco, I was really happy with this places location and fast food options within walking distance!

The husband and I stayed here for two nights while we were in town to visit downtown San Francisco. We had asked for a downstairs room with parking in front of the door so we could keep an eye on our motorcycle and trailer. Originally they had planned on us on the second floor but for a bit more money they were able to get us downstairs. There really aren't too many rooms in this facility.
The room itself was ok, the AC worked but there were only blinds on the window. No curtains to block the sun. Location to food and to Fisherman's Wharf were convenient. My only concern is that it was right behind a busy gas station and people were up and down the alley all night.

The Royal Inn is conveniently located and well kept. I was surprised to find such a great rate on SF peninsula hotel. Paid less than $100 and got a room with 2 KING beds. The beds are comfortable. Room was clean and the manager was very friendly and hospitable. Located just minutes from SFO, this hotel was a good spot to stay giving us access to shopping and the city for our family trip. Kids had plenty of space and the fridge and microwave was useful. I recommend saving money and staying at this hotel vs these branded hotels, where you can't even get a fridge in the room or have to pay for parking--Royal Inn is a bargain and offers good clean rooms.

The rooms are being renovated, I think, so everything was somewhat clean only covered in dust. The sink in the room is for washing but the water pressure is barely a trickle. The shared bathroom and shower are clean, but you have to wash your hands in your room. There is only one toilet and shower for the whole hotel. The bed is stiff and so are the pillows. I would not recommend this for more then one or two nights. The area is not too bad, just make sure to only travel South, North is sketchy. They charge you for every night when you first get there, so keep that in mind. The walls are thin and my window had a broken lock. 2/10 would not recommend.

They change up their rates Idk why. Otherwise the rooms were clean and don't smell, everything worked, and had no issues. This hotel is actually nicer inside than the one next to them that appear to be the nicer of the two. Not so. I was surprised. It would be really nice to show some gratitude to the loyal customers whom continue to rent by discounting them instead of raising the rent. Just a suggestion, is all. Thanks -
