Set in an old church in the town, well situated for Cody. Very friendly owners both met us on arrival. We were in Dun double room, so many things in the room to take in! So quirky and fun. Lovely roll top clawfoot bath, with a view of the town! Only downside, we couldn't make a drink in our room, a rule of no food or drink in bedrooms. Breakfast was interesting too, no cereal or toast available, but very tasty scrambled eggs with tomato, bacon and cheese along with a 'biscuit' and jam, coffee and orange juice. This was the set breakfast for all staying. We enjoyed our stay here at the Roaming Cowboy.

so there were a lot of things that had gone poorly with our stay. After 5+ hours of driving we arrived and they gave a look like we were aliens. The reservations were "wrong" and stated that even though the description of the room is a "a twin and full bed" they had the listing as one person, not two. Apparently this happens a lot and even though they tried to fix it, they continue to use the same website and not change their room description. I explained that usually when booking a room you go by the description and it states two bed, why would you display two beds and assume it's for one person.||||Although he was courteous, it was exhausting trying to debate paying an additional $27 after driving for so long. He had to turn on his computer to show that his side says 1 person even though my reservation shows no difference of 1 or 2 people for the room.||||We paid the extra $27 because we were tired and in a rush to catch dinner before everything closed. I asked if we could pay them after and they were really hesitant about it. ||||the point of the room was that it was cheaper. It's not worth $127. The bathroom is separate from the room. There are rules written everywhere, kinda like staying at an anal retentive aunt's house. Rules everywhere, but not a sign of the wifi password. I'd rather pay that extra $27 for a hotel room instead of tiptoeing around a dark house. ||||Also the full size bed sunk down so low, I would not recommend to anyone with back issues. The room had some house junk that they tried to hide with a room divider. Besides that, the room and bathroom were clean.||||The couple means well, but that first interaction just left a bad taste in our mouth. They also told a story about some 'orientals' that staye, but we chalked that up to small town/old age ignorance. The breakfast in the morning was nice, but give yourself a half hour because they make it when you sit down at the table. We were packing up the car and they watched until we finally sat down. You also converse with the other guests which can be nice or bad depending if you like small talk with strangers. Breakfast consist of scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of toast and 2 breakfast links. Coffee, tea, or juice.|||| This is not an inn, this is a bed and breakfast. A house that an old couple lives in and decided to also rent out the rooms (total of 4) which are up to code. If you like to get personal with people this might be for you, but we were there just to sleep until the next couple of hours of driving.

Chip and Donna welcome you to their quaint bed and breakfast with cheery smiles! Both are very willing to share information about the area and about the art that adorns the Inn, a former art gallery. If you enjoy western art, you'll enjoy the numerous paintings and sculptures. Fred, a buffalo head trophy, gazes at you as you enter the upstairs landing where the guest rooms are. Our room featured a double bed and single bed which were comfortable as was the private bath down the hall. Chip dishes up great breakfast grub in the morning! Enjoy your stay!

arrived for our over night stay was greeted by chip who seem friendly enough despite some of the house rules!!! we were shown to our room which appeared clean bit dated and was quirky with a bit of clutter...||breakfast next morning was just ok but no real choice!!!||plenty of free parking outside the hotel and close to town where there's plenty of eating / drinking places shops etc. ||#overall the room was ok but i feel it was very expensive.. ||||Bill Cody museum is not to far away and well worth a visit...

This B&B welcomed us with closed arms. My greeting on opening the screen door was "You didn't knock!!". That was Donna from 8 feet inside the hallway, where she was talking with other "guests". When she finished with them, and after I had gone back outside and knocked, she informed me that the house was a residence, not a business and people could not just walk in. (isn't a B & B a business?). She then handed me a bill for $282. Before giving me a key, she recited a list of rules which were also posted on the wall facing the front door. We were waiting for her to laugh at the end, thinking this was pretty amusing, but no luck. No laugh. The ridiculous set of rules was for real. Some of these rules were (and I assume still are): no eating or drinking in your room, no trespassing in the house-stay in your room or get out of the house, no guests allowed in, and no showers or baths after 9:00 pm. (Not sure about flushing the toilet!). At the bottom of the list was a statement that " any violation of these rules will result in the guest being escorted from the premises", adding that fines might be imposed. The one exception was that from 7 am to 8:30 am, guests could enter the dining room and sit down for breakfast. We have had some great eating experiences out west. This was not one of them. Rock hard hash browns (barely warm) accompanied nasty tasting sausage, dried eggs, and toast. The toast wasn't bad. On our second, and thankfully last, morning, we opted to pass on breakfast there and went out. Oh, the mystery. The mystery is: Why would anyone write a good review for this B&B? We saw a couple of them and suspect that it might have been the owners or their friends. Only they could be happy there, but they sure don't look it!!

Donna greeted us at the door with a baffled expression which suggested she wasn't used to strangers appearing at her house and had no idea what we were doing there. The fact that she runs a B&B seemed to have momentarily escaped her mind. When it was eventually established that we were guests with a reservation rather than marauding murderers, she begrudgingly let us in and read us the list of rules. As other reviewers have detailed below, the rules are strict, unnecessary and unwelcoming. I can only imagine that Chip and Donna once had a bad experience with guests and now feel it necessary to treat everyone who stays there like a potential criminal.||||The room itself was clean and basically fine, but totally cluttered with furniture and cowboy memorabilia. A clearout would provide much more space for the guests to use.||||Anyway, if you're thinking of booking here, just know that you're in for a decent bed for the night with an unfriendly overall experience. It's not particularly cheap either. I just can't possibly understand why this couple decided to run a B&B when they quite clearly don't want people in their house.

My mom and I stayed here and loved this place! So much cowboy charm with the nicest hosts. Great artwork and antiques in a historic little church. We even had fresh plums from their tree outside, and they gave us some to take back with us on the road. We loved our breakfast, too- nice and hot with lots of coffee!

We stayed here for 3 nights. This place is just amazing. Fantastic atmosphere, clean and comfortable. You need to know that there is no TV in the rooms, but if you need a TV in Cody, close to Yellowstone, you have a very sad life. The owner couple is very kind and they serve excellent breakfast. Strongly recommended.
