Had a burger and fries last time. That was pretty good. Waitress talked me into Country fried steak and eggs this time even though it was nearing lunchtime. I asked her if the country fried steak was a frozen puck or fresh made. She would only say "nobody complains". I asked if the tenderloin sandwich was frozen or scratch made. Same answer. Guess what. Frozen puck country fried steak. Has browns were cooked, but not crispy. Scrambled eggs was flat and tasteless. Gravy obviously canned. I ate it all so I can't really complain, but will definitely stick with the burger next time. Waitress is nice, service good. Iced tea good. I'd come back, but I live in East Peoria,so a bit of a haul, but if I'm in the area, I'd stop by.

Great food at great prices. Staff was extremely nice and inviting. Good portions also. Highly recommend. They also took over Taco Tuesday in South Pekin. I attached menu's.

Great burgers. Tried the bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks at the restaurant. Took a mushroom and swiss burger home for my husband that was packaged nicely. Everything was satisfying:)

Was there on Fri. For the fish fry. Waitress was extremely rude. Ordered coffee. Waitress refused to make stated she wasn't going to make just for 2 of us to drink. Stated coffee pot takes 20 min to make any way. Ordered catfish stated there was only 5 pieces left. You get 2 pieces per person. She didn't appear to want to give it. No refills offered on drink and her attitude was with us from the moment we walked in the door. My daughter and I spoke among ourself that she was rude. She came to the table twice and confronted us. Waitress was an older woman. Just hope not the owner. Will never be back. The fish was actually good. Potato salad and slaw not. Drink comes with dinner I ordered water, did no know, coffee would have been good or ice tea!!!! Or anything offered. Too bad think it could be a good restaurant. One bad apple spoils the bunch. I should have left right from the beginning. Maybe if I was a regular I would have been treated better.

The country fried steak was amazing. Bacon is high quality. I just tried the brick yard omelette and was wowed. Fried chicken was really really good. Owner was super friendly. Told me all the meat he uses was from beechams(local meat). They also make all their pies and cakes in house. All homemade even the icing. Can't say enough about this place. It is my new breakfast spot.

The service 10/10 - our waitress, sweet as pie!

Food 10/10 - I had the Chicken & Swiss sandwich paired with the best potato salad I’ve ever had; along with a slice of heavenly bread pudding for dessert.

If you’re in the Pekin, IL area RJ’s Cafe is a must. Support local near or far ! ♥️

P.S regarding the little lady who left a poor review two days ago stating the potato salad wasn’t good, she lied. I will be on the hunt for a recipe similar back home 🤤

This was my first time visiting RJ's Cafe and I was disappointed. The waitress Dawn was friendly and so was the cook. There was another waitress and she was coughing in the dining room while I waited for my order. I ordered a 4 piece walleye dinner, and only received two pieces. When I called to question this I was told that the pieces were not cut in half. Both the catfish and walleye dinners were good, fish portions were small, they were both over priced.

Food was good. Service was great. Wish there were more options. There was no side of pancakes offered to order. The skillet I wanted to try was specifically worded "served as is" but I wanted to tweak it a little. Enjoyed overall.
