I stayed in the Lily Suite which was a private suite with a two sided fireplace, bedroom, kitchenette and a large out door deck. I was impressed with how clean the room with one exception, the furniture was somewhat stained but I talked with hotel management and this was resolved to my satisfaction. The staff here is really wonderful - all of them - from the management and front desk to the waiters and housekeeping staff. All went above and beyond in providing services. Had a WONDERFUL aromatherapy massage with Desiree! They are transitioning and there is more remodeling to be done, I'm rooting for this resort to return to its former classy resort history. I will definitely be a return customer.

Multiple pools and hot tubs, fun and cozy fire pits in the evening. Great place for singles, couples and families!

This place was such a letdown. They call it a four-star resort, but they forgot to mention that all four of those stars are 75 years old and looking droopy in all the wrong places. From the stained, crack-infested walls to the 1950s bed frames, it was a disappointment at every turn. The doors slam so loudly that the neighbors actually came out to check if we were okay, and the bathroom doors wouldn’t even stay closed.

If you’re imagining a luxurious getaway, think again. Picture a time machine ride to an old Borscht Belt resort—only this one has already begun to smell. The low, basement-like ceilings, filthy carpets (do they not know vacuums exist?), and shaky, uncomfortable beds with uninviting linens made it impossible to relax.

We enjoyed the pool for about an hour, which was admittedly nice, but that was the only highlight. By midnight, we packed up and drove four hours back home. Even the long drive was better than spending the night in this cave.

If you think I am kidding about any of this, please see the review of a fellow recovering guest where they post about a dozen pictures and you will see for yourself. My only regret is that I did not take any of my own pictures.

Loved access to bicycles and the friendly front desk staff. The location was outside downtown and rooms are sheltered from the noise of busy roads. (Awesome). Pool area plays music. Hot tub excellent.
It is an older building so heard the people above walking and showers.
Sadly, cleaning staff was minimal. Halls and rooms not vaccumed and not cleaned daily. Staff responded well when asked for supplies to replenish coffee, towels, etc.
I would rate this hotel a 3-3.25.

Billing errors have left a bad taste. Requested adjustment for Air Canada's lower resort fee (done). Staff couldn't accept cash which would have cost us less exchange.
Had over $1,000 extra charge processed on my credit card which I luckily caught early.

The Riviera is a great place to stay. It is not a new hotel and as long as you are aware of that the place exceeds your expectations. The room was clean, service was amazing.

All the staff were wonderful, but I want to highlight two people who really stood out. Special thanks to Michelle at the front desk. A wonderful local who was very welcoming and set us up for a great stay. And a huge thanks to Celina at Circa 59 for dinner.

I recommend the Riviera and will be back.

This resort must have been epic back in the day. The grounds are beautiful, pools are clean and well kept. The rooms are clean enough but small and dated, especially for the price. However, this resort was just purchased and getting ready for renovations. I would be very interested to see it post-reno! It is a great spot proximal to all the fun things Palm Springs has to offer.

On their site they say they are a 4 star hotel but I strongly disagree. They changed our room 3 times from our original booking. We had 4 people and they switched us from 2 queens to 1 king, 1 king premium and then finally back to our 2 queen after having to spend a lot of my time on the phone with them. This hotel seems like it was built in the 1950s and had the cheapest upgrades in hallways and rooms done but the lobby looks amazing. Hallways were gross and they had cardboard trash cans throughout our building. Rooms were ok but no hot water, no lock on bathroom door, and AC was horrible throughout our stay. We called about no hot water and were pretty much told that is normal! So sad bc we were so excited about this stay!

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. We booked it through Priceline as a 4-star hotel, but upon arrival, it was clear this was no more than a 2.5-star hotel. The manager admitted at the front desk the next day that it was, in fact, a 2.5-star hotel.

The room service was terrible, and the air conditioning in our room didn’t work. After dealing with a fire evacuation and seeking a place to stay, we were met with rude and unsympathetic staff who refused to refund our money despite all the issues we faced.

The manager was unhelpful and did nothing to address our concerns. The entire staff seemed unfriendly and unpleasant, making the stay even worse. Additionally, there was no proper rod or space to handle luggage, making it difficult to carry our belongings properly.

Nothing was clear or organized, and the conditions were far from what we expected when booking. This experience was unacceptable, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

As someone with a degree in tourism, I have seen and experienced many situations within the hospitality industry, and I can confidently say that this is the first time I’ve encountered a situation like this. Normally, when guests experience issues like the ones we faced—such as a non-functioning air conditioner, rude management, and an overall unsatisfactory experience—hotels often offer compensation, such as a complimentary night’s stay or a functional room to make up for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, the 20% discount for a future stay felt out of place given the level of dissatisfaction. After experiencing such a negative stay, it’s hard to imagine returning under those circumstances.

Moreover, the lack of empathy or understanding from the manager left us feeling unheard and disrespected. It’s crucial for hotel staff to acknowledge guest concerns and offer genuine solutions, especially when things go wrong. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the experience didn’t align with what I have come to expect from professional hospitality management.

Additionally, the hotel was listed as a 4-star property on both the website and Google Maps, but in reality, it was clearly a 2.5-star hotel. This is misleading and provides false information to potential guests. Transparency and accurate representations are critical in the hospitality industry, and this discrepancy only added to our frustration.

Both my boyfriend and I were deeply disappointed by our experience, and we hope this feedback can help guide future improvements in guest relations and service standards.

Best regards,

Stayed for New years eve. The hotel was nice, great pool area, clean room. However, the shampoo bottle was empty. Had a great stay but felt misled by the cost. I booked through booking.com and the receipt stated a total cost which included a resort fee to be collected at the hotel. From what I see on my credit card and receipts is that I was charged a resort fee twice. Once at time of booking and then again at the hotel. The booking stated that free breakfast was also included, however what you actually get is a 15.00 coupon towards your breakfast which doesn't pay for much of anything.
